To increase the amount of crew available for hire would require remaking all the factions trade stations (and possibly cargo ships) fysically, which is beyond the scope of this mod.
To make your suggestion work, somewhere between 50 and 100 ship files would need to be fysically remade. This mod only makes some textual changes to some of the vanilla code, but doesn't make any changes to the ship files themselves.
The Huge Crew Mod was made after this mod was already released, which is why this mod exists in the first place. So unfortunately this mod is not what you're looking for.
Updated to get rid of the "not compatible" popup.

I fixed the issue, this mod should functioning normally again (as of writing the game version is 20.27).
