MK2E导弹以奥托马特MK2 Block IV导弹为基础，将利用同为MBDA公司研发的马特（Marte）反舰导弹增程型相关技术，改进内容包括新型固体推进发动机，重新设计的弹体以及包含新型导引头的导航系统等，以满足导弹增程和生存能力要求。虽然没有更多细节披露，但据简式判断，MK2E导弹的全部性能都将得到提升，不过速度仍将保持高亚声速。

The MK2E missile is based on the Ottoman MK2 Block IV missile, and will use the related technologies of the extended range Matte anti-ship missile developed by MBDA Company. The improvements include a new solid propellant motor, a redesigned missile body, and a navigation system including a new seeker to meet the requirements of the missile's extended range and survivability. Although no more details are disclosed, according to the simple judgment, all the performances of MK2E missile will be improved, but the speed will remain high subsonic speed.
