Special conditions of detention: Due to the nature of SCP-001, no special conditions of detention are required. SCP-001 must be monitored continuously, from a safe distance (10+ kilometers from the object) from a specially selected location (Zone 0). The location of Zone 0 is known only to the current Administrator of SCP and one Overseer professing the Abrahamic religion (O5-14), who is assigned to monitor SCP-001 from Zone 0. This O5 is authorized to take any necessary action if SCP-001 is activated, and must immediately alert the Administrator and other Caretakers if SCP-001 changes its behavior in any way, as this may mean the beginning of the end of the world of Class XK according to the "Patmos" scenario.

If SCP-001 is activated in any way, personnel are required to immediately familiarize themselves with the Patmos emergency procedure. The decryption algorithms for it are contained in the designated observer's Zone 0 and should be transmitted to the Foundation's offices only if SCP-001 is activated. The following is recommended to the staff of the Fund who are of value for one or more variants of the emergency procedure "Patmos"::

Be well versed in one or more organized Abrahamic religions.
Keep the following equipment at hand: holy water, rosary beads, crucifix, cross, prayer mat or other symbol consecrated by a bishop or a priest of the Abrahamic religion of the same high rank, a copy of the Holy Scripture of the Abrahamic religion (Torah, Bible, Koran) and a standard portable emergency kit (alarm kit).
In the event of the development of the "Millennial Delight" scenario, all valuable personnel should appoint secondary employees who do not profess Abrahamic religions and inform them about the location of the main copy of the Patmos action plan and means of protection against destructive memagent. These secondary employees should be in a state of full readiness to take the place of the main staff as necessary.
Familiarize yourself with all other SCP objects that may lead to the end of the world of class XK according to the "Patmos" scenario.
Description: SCP-001 is a humanoid creature approximately seven hundred (700) cubits (315 meters) tall, located in a hidden area near the intersection of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The following is known about him:

From the shoulders, back, temples, ankles and wrists of the creature emanates many luminous appendages, similar to wings. Their number varies, most observers call the number from two (2) to one hundred and eight (108), but most often there are four (4).
A weapon, presumably a sword or knife (SCP-001-2). It seems to emit a flame, the temperature of which can be compared with the sun, judging by the spectrographic analysis, although the surrounding space does not experience the destructive effects of extreme heat. Any creature that comes within 1 kilometer of SCP-001 is immediately destroyed by this weapon. All hostile actions directed at SCP-001 resulted in the destruction of the attacker, regardless of the distance to him (see the incident report: "Experiment with a submarine in the Indian Ocean" dated December 26, 2004).
SCP-001 stands with his head bowed in a prayer pose with SCP-001-2 held in front of him in both hands. Since the Founder started keeping records more than [DATA CHANGED] years ago, SCP-001 has not changed its posture.
People who have been in contact with SCP-001 have reported a voice in their head giving orders that cannot be disobeyed. The most frequent order is "FORGET IT", after which the subject walks away from SCP-001, forgetting that he saw it. In rare cases, however, other orders were given: the most famous of them was given to the Founder ("GET READY") and led to the fact that the Founder created [DATA CHANGED] to describe and contain all possible supernatural and/or paranormal artifacts that pose a serious threat to the existence of mankind. This organization is currently known as the SCP Foundation.
Observers reported that SCP-001 was standing in front of a huge gate. Long-range photography showed that there is a pastoral grove behind the gate, which contains many creatures similar to SCP-001, as well as several fruit trees of unknown species. It is worth noting two huge fruit trees located, apparently, in the center of the grove: one, apparently, is an ordinary apple tree, while the second grows fruits unknown on Earth and described as [DATA DELETED].
It is a well-known belief of the Founder that the gate guarded by SCP-001 can be the gate to [DELETED]. This belief is based on the connection between the ancient Babylonian texts and the Dead Sea scrolls. In this case, the entity known as SCP-001 can be [DELETED].

Appendix 001-a: Experiments to determine the effective range of SCP-001-2.

1. EXPERIMENT A: One Class D employee was ordered to approach SCP-001 on foot as close as possible.
Result: After making eye contact with SCP-001, the subject received an order to "LEAVE". The subject immediately turned away from the object and left. Despite repeated orders to continue the experiment, the Class D employee refused to obey and was eliminated. Immediately afterwards, the entire research staff involved was destroyed by an unknown force, presumably SCP-001-2.

2. EXPERIMENT B: One remote-controlled research robot directed to SCP-001 on the ground.
Result: At 1 kilometer from SCP-001, the robot was destroyed, presumably SCP-001-2. All further attempts to use remote reconnaissance led to the same result.

3. EXPERIMENT C: 100 programmed drones were launched simultaneously in order to reach SCP-001 from different directions.
Result: Coordination was successful, all 100 drones crossed the border of 1 kilometer at the same time. However, at the same moment they were all destroyed by SCP-001-2. A designated observer from Zone 0 reported that SCP-001-2 "struck in all directions at once." SCP-001 did not change his position at the same time.

4. EXPERIMENT D: A guided missile was launched from a distance of 3 kilometers.
Result: SCP-001-2 destroyed the missile after it came within one kilometer. At the same time, the launch pad and all its personnel were destroyed.

5. EXPERIMENT E: An intercontinental ballistic missile with a separable warhead was launched from the nuclear submarine Nautilus.
Result: See "Experiment with a submarine in the Indian Ocean" dated December 26, 2004.

6. EXPERIMENT F: SCP-076 and the Omega-7 Mobile Task Force were ordered to reach SCP-001 by ground.
Result: SCP-076 refused to complete the task, despite not being given information about its purpose. Upon finding out the reason for this, SCP-076 replied, "No. Just not."

7. EXPERIMENT G: SCP-073. Due to the results of Experiment F, SCP-073 was not informed of its objectives before arriving in Zone 0.
Result: SCP-073 walked to the Zone. Upon seeing SCP-001, SCP-073 became upset and asked to abort the experiment. SCP-073 has been ordered to continue. At this point, the symbol on SCP-073's forehead became [DATA DELETED]. The experiment was terminated according to [DATA DELETED], see Appendix 001-aa.

Appendix 001-aa: By special order of the Administrator, all further experiments with SCP-001 are prohibited. In the future, it is forbidden to bring other objects to SCP-001. SCP-001 should not be used to eliminate dangerous SCP objects. Details in the revised conditions of detention.
