ギャラン フォルティス（GALANT FORTIS）は、三菱自動車工業が生産・販売していた中型セダンである。なお、ギャランフォルティスを名乗るのは日本国内仕様のみ。

今回紹介するスポーツバックが2008年12月2日に発売された。

「フォルティス」というサブネームをつけた理由は、海外（北米）で販売されている9代目ギャランのフルモデルチェンジしたモデルであるとの誤解を避け、新規のサブネームで新規開発車両であるイメージが必要であったためである。

日本国内向けの三菱自動車製のセダンとしては、6代目ランサー（当初「ランサーセディア」）以来7年ぶりの新型車種であった。

世界販売戦略シャシを用いて設計される三菱・GSプラットフォームの小型車版PMを用いて作成された車両。

欧州仕様には1.8Lの設定もあるが、日本仕様はセダン同様に2L・MIVECのみとなる。

エクステリアは全車に「RALLIART」と共通のマスク（ジェットファイターグリル）を採用。

ルーフスポイラーは全てのグレードでオプションとなっている。

リヤには大開口のテールゲートを備え、ユーティリティ向上を図った。
また、分割可倒式を採用したリヤシートはカーゴルーム内のレバーで簡単に倒すことができる。
リヤシートを畳んだ場合の荷室の奥行きは1,570mm。「RALLIART」を除き2段階高さ調整付のカーゴフロアを備え、フロアを下段にした場合の容量は345L。

インテリアの構成や装備は基本的にセダンと変わらないが、内装色はブラックのみ、ナビパッケージは設定されずオプションでの対応となる。
また、55km/h以上での急制動やABS作動時にハザードランプを高速点滅させる「緊急制動信号システム」を三菱車で初めて搭載。

価格は「TOURING」を除いてセダン同グレード比31,500円のアップにとどめている。尚、セダンの「SPORT」にある5速MTはスポーツバックには用意されない。

In addition, the split-folding rear seats can be easily folded down with a lever in the cargo room.
The depth of the luggage compartment when the rear seats are folded is 1,570mm. With the exception of the "RALLIART", the cargo floor is equipped with a two-stage height adjustment, and the capacity when the floor is set to the lower level is 345L.

The interior configuration and equipment are basically the same as the sedan, but the interior color is black only, and the navigation package is not set and is an option.
In addition, it is the first Mitsubishi model to be equipped with an "emergency braking signal system" that flashes the hazard lamps at high speed during sudden braking at speeds of 55 km/h or more or when ABS is activated.

Except for the Touring, the price is only 31,500 yen higher than the same grade as the sedan. In addition, the 5-speed MT in the sedan "SPORT" is not prepared for the sportsback.
