Global Occult Coalition - G.O.C.

The Global Occult Coalition was a related organization coined by Kane Patos Crowe at the beginning of the SCP Foundation community. Inspired by the kripipasta about how the Soviet Red Army killed God in 1950, Crowe proposed creating a separate, but equally powerful organization associated with the paranormal. If the SCP Foundation was dedicated to the search, capture and maintenance of paranormal objects, then the Coalition is characterized by a completely different, more direct approach: the direct destruction of the paranormal.

Since then, the concept has been somewhat refined to its current form. The Global Occult Coalition has become a distinctly political organization whose actions influence the world stage. From this point of view, the GOK's view of paranormal objects differs from that of the SCP Foundation: if the Foundation is jailers, then the Coalition is executioners. But, like any executioner, they cannot act without the permission of a judge and jury... of the Privy Council of One Hundred and Eight at the United Nations.

The inspiration for the stories of the Global Occult Coalition is drawn from all kinds of fiction about secret societies exercising covert control over the world (Charles Strauss's Laundry series, Delta Green and The Call of Cthulhu by Chaosium, the Illuminatus trilogy!, Mike Mignola's Hellboy, etc.), with a strong admixture of a modern thriller in Tom Clancy style. The horror element is still present, but the emphasis has shifted from the monsters lurking in the darkness to the people who guard us at night.

Participant's Guide
All pages added to the canon must have a title in the following format:
Background information: "goc-supplemental-name", for example: goc-supplemental-threat entities
Personal files: "goc-personnel-name", for example: goc-personnel-D-C-al-Fine
Stories: goc-tale-title, for example: goc-tale-rascal-one-actual.
For all pages added to the canon, the page you are currently on (goc-hub-page) must be specified as the parent page - for the needs of hierarchical navigation.
Please read all the background information before writing for this canon. Feel free to contribute to the background information, but keep in mind that if your add-on does not appeal to readers, it may be removed.
Please read the characters' personal files before using them in your stories. Feel free to create new characters and groups if you want.
Keep in mind: much of what is considered good for an SCP article is not applicable to GOK articles and vice versa. For example, the "chase with fights and shootings" in the Foundation is usually viewed with contempt, because it violates the sense of the terrible, but it will be much more appropriate in the Global Occult Coalition.
And finally: the canon of the Global Occult Coalition started as a separate wiki project, but was moved to the main site of the SCP Foundation due to the lack of much excitement. It has become easier to administer it as a small part of an existing community than as an independent community. However, if the GOK canon grows to bulkiness, it will be able to branch off into a separate wiki once again. By contributing to this canon, you agree that when creating a new wiki, your works may become part of it under a Creative Commons license.
