Description
Two Rivers with road grid built on vanilla map.

Updated:
Built more suburbs with train rail on outer areas of map that require 81 tile mod to use them. To be clear, you don't need any mods to use this map, just 81 tile mod to use whole map.

Last 4 pictures show outer suburbs.

Train stations in pictures are an example of the build intention using vanilla stations & from the content creator pack: train stations.

OK. So Im making progress. I disabled ALL my mods in Content Manager and the game loads OK. Ive added 81 tiles and it still works. I'm now adding one mod at a time before loading the map to see if I can discover the baddie. If I find one I shall let you fyi. Many thanks for your help and prompt relies.:steamhappy:

I got this off of Reddit from a yr ago:

Missing network asset is one that can 100% cause simulation error. Is there some custom roads that you used and is missing from your game?

Get compatibility report and loading screen mod, enable them in content manager, start a game, crash, force quit, restart, go into compatibility report options, generate report, view report. That will show you all the currently broken mods that were causing problems. Fix that. Try starting a new game 8/10 problems fixed. For that 2/10 you need to dive into the error log located somewhere

Loading screen has a checkbox where you can ignore it (and at least load the city). The output error log should help determine the culprit. However, I would review mods first

^ This means that you are missing a network asset that's used in your city. Check your Loading Screen Mod assets report for which one(s), including the workshop links.

@Cdoonut: Thanks for the suggestion. I unsubscribed to 81 tiles but it made no difference - still same error message. The map loaded fine until about a week ago. Any other ideas? It seems to have something to do with the gridded maps since ordinary ones load OK.

I used the 81 tile mod to access the map to build it out, it might have something to do with that. I would subscribe to it to see if the save loads. Once loaded, then you could disable the mod to see if the save still loads, if so, then you can unsubscribe to the 81 tile mod.

@Cdoonut. Cant tell you how much I love this map, mainly for the rail setup but not the only reason. Now Im devastated 'cos it wont load anymore. Im getting a message "Simulation Failed: Not set to an instance". Ive tried to load a couple of your other grid maps with the same result. The thing is - the original map (ie not gridded) loads OK.

Im aware it could well be something at my side but Im checking to see if you can confirm its not something your side and if not, what I might look for to remedy this.

Thanks...

I've enjoyed using this map,it gives me alot of ideas on how to build my city. Thanks

lets take lagoon shore as an example, the top left part with the trees would be a decent example. Just between the top curved road down to the central larger connection are 6 intersections and horisontally in just that local area is 9 across. So I have easily 30 intersection in just that quarter of the grid. For a local bus line or 2 and cars that is fine but if I want to zone cornerstores local "thirdplace plazas" or break industrial zones into smaller ones with less traffic impact that kind of grid is garbage.

As a base these frames are quite solid for most part but they connect to often so you get a start, stop , start stop flow. You get more out of it if you cut local roads short of connecting now and then and connect the last bit with just walk/bike path.

your eden valley, lagoon shore etc had 2-4 connection to the bigger ring roads from local areas between each larger connection. If I built for cars circulating that would be fine but I want bikepaths, restricted amount of intersections to guide cars to the ring roads while open options for walkability and masstransit while breaking up zoning so it mixes more. To help you visualise it would be something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvdQ381K5xg .
