The Scarab (U being the Recon model), is a long-range support vehicle family comprising mainly logistical and reconnaissance models, but also being the primary platform for testing newer technologies.

This model is equipped with a remote driver camera on the roof for obtaining better images of tracked targets and bases, but also comes equipped with a separate turret operated by the gunner that has access to a basic gatling gun without external magazines or drums, meaning it has to be manually reloaded. This capability gap of not having a magazine for the gunner was done to save on weight and cost, but later models come equipped with a newer turret that fixes these shortcomings.

There are 2 medium-sized cargo containers for storing provisions and equipment, but this vehicle is not designed for extended excursions alone - meaning there are no sleeping arrangements or cryopods, and the crew must keep the vehicle fueled and powered to survive in its two seats. An electronic compass was also not included in this model.

Long-term surveillance is not the purpose of this model, and should be carried out at the driver's discretion due to not having the resources to sustain missions long-term.
