Ah, Treebeard if he really gave in to what he was feeling during the Sack of Isengard. Durthu's up there with Belegar in terms of obviousness in Lord of the Rings inspiration, with Treemen being your standard Ent expy - though I personally think the less human designs makes them far more interesting visually than most Treants.

Durthu is a great facet of what makes the Asrai so interesting compared to most other wood elves - Bosmer excluded of course, love those crazy shape-shifting, meat-beer-drinking, beetle-riding folk - with their deep and complex relationship with the Forest Spirits being absolutely fascinating. The contrasts between Adanhu's compassion and Ariel's corruption, how both sides have influenced each other, how Durthu himself has changed and become wearied and bitter over the millenia.
