When the first bricks of this city were laid, the nomadic fishermen who had grown up with the region thought it was insanity. They were correct, but against possibility, it endured. Stinking of whiskey and incandescent lights, the city lurched on in frostbitten imitation of what those who fled to it remembered from their old lives. No one's born here, but countless are buried here - lost souls who drifted to the ends of the Earth, hoping to forget, and to be forgotten.










The longest I've worked on a map - probably about 20-30 days in total, broken up by schoolwork taking up a lot of time. I noticed while going through this one, I'm much more dense. The amount of time it takes me to finish a single building, the amount of detail I can conceptualize, the amount of research I did to draw up the plans. Really felt my own mind & skillset develop over the course of making this.
