SCP-058 - Heart of Darkness

Special conditions of detention: SCP-058 should be kept permanently in an isolated chamber measuring 5 x 5 x 5 m. The walls should be made of a layer of reinforced heat-resistant steel 3 m (10 ft) thick, reinforced from the outside with a layer of reinforced concrete 10 m (33 ft) thick. SCP-058 should be fed a live cow once every three days. Monitoring should be performed every sixty (60) minutes when SCP-058 is asleep and every fifteen (15) minutes when SCP-058 is active. Under no circumstances should SCP-058 leave the cells. Audio recording must be continuously performed in the SCP-058 camera. No employee should listen to SCP-058 for more than thirty (30) minutes at a time. In case of escape, the building should be considered endangered, and nuclear weapons located on its territory should be used. SCP-058 has caused the deaths of at least one hundred and forty-nine (149) Class D employees and fourteen (14) agents during its detention in this area.

Description: SCP-058 resembles a bull's heart with four (4) legs similar to arthropod legs and used primarily for movement, and four (4) tentacles of adjustable length covered with razor-sharp ridges. On the back side, where an ordinary organ has an opening for the superior vena cava, there is one sharp "sting". SCP-058's tentacles can whip up to 3.2 m (10.5 ft) away at speeds reaching 320 km/h (200 mph). SCP-058 is extremely hostile and will use any given opportunity to cause damage to others. SCP-058 has shown high injury resistance, so it should be approached with caution even when it looks clearly incapacitated.

SCP-058 is very mobile and is able to move at lightning speed on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. A speed of approximately 90 km/h (55 mph) was recorded when the object moved in short jerks, covering a distance of more than 200 m (656 ft). The object is also capable of accelerating from 0 to 90 km/h (55 mph) in less than two (2) seconds. Tentacles are used to gain strength and stability, as well as to move to other surfaces at high speed.

SCP-058 "speaks" with a human voice, although no vocal organs have been observed in its physiology. His tone and accent are characteristic of an elderly Briton with a slight lisp and a low voice. SCP-058 speaks continuously, regardless of conditions: even during an attack, SCP-058's voice and speech tempo do not change. SCP-058's speech lacks a visible relationship with events, people, and locations of SCP-058 (see transcript of interview 058-04).

Remarks: The first encounter with SCP-058 occurred in Zone ██, where it appeared from [DATA DELETED]. SCP-058 was extremely hostile and looked very excited. First, SCP-058 attacked the Zone, which resulted in the deaths of faculty members and agents. After that, SCP-058 attacked a nearby town ███████████, as a result, more than [REMOVED] citizens were killed and seventy percent (70%) of city buildings were destroyed.

An analysis conducted subsequently determined that most of the deaths were due to fire and related injuries. The fire, in turn, started due to the wide dispersion of liquid that SCP-058 sprayed from its "sting" from a tall building. It also caused the destruction of most of the buildings. █████████ SCP-058 was the cause of only 8% of the total number of deaths, the main proof of which was [DATA DELETED].

SCP-058 was eventually crushed by masonry falling on it from the roof of the building and rendered harmless. After that, SCP-058 was recovered from the wreckage and brought to ████████ with the help of agents and mobile task forces. SCP-058 was placed in ████████ for three weeks, and during this time he made almost no attempts to move, which was explained both physical injuries and █████████ during the first incident. Testing during this time period was limited, as the danger level of SCP-058 is considered high even when it is weakened.

SCP-058 broke out of the chamber ██.██.████, during the time when they tried to transport him to the SCP holding area, which led to many deaths and injuries. SCP-058 was eventually neutralized by Agent ██████, who crushed SCP-058 by running over it with an Abrams M1 tank. After that, SCP-058 was immobilized and taken to Militarized Bio-Research Site 14.
