I'm terrible with using the in-game decals to create camos. So if anyone ends up creating a Zann Consortium camo please share with me.

Version 2.0 changes


1: Role/squad assignments have been corrected.

2: Unnecessary roles removed.

3: Moved the missile silos to fire forwards for more forward facing firepower.

4. Added some decals, changed base paint darkness, and added some lights to at least give it a little cosmetic flair.


The next ship i will be working on is the Broadside Cruiser from Empire At War.

Seeing the effectiveness of mass driver technology Consortium military leaders wanted a ship with upscaled Mass Driver weaponry. The result was the Shatter class Destroyer.

In classic Consortium fashion their engineers used an already available base, The Republic Venator class. By removing the ventral hanger bays and devoting the center line to weaponry, Consortium engineers were able to drastically upscale a mass driver cannon but still remain practical as the center line provided ample room for the weapon. In addition, the main broadside cannons as well as a majority of the turbo lasers were removed in favor of concussion missile banks and a heavy focus on point defense and anti fighter cannons. The removal of the requirement for fighter and planetary assault craft also allowed the crew complement to remain very similar to its original design as the mass driver required numerous crew to operate and maintain. While vulnerable to direct ship to ship combat its main purpose was to remain in the rear of the fleet or in protected positions where its long range mass driver could be used to devastate enemy ships. Thanks to its concussion missile banks it was also capable of supporting the fleet more closely as well, as long as it was not the main attack craft.

To create these ships the consortium would provide planetary militias, unnoticed fringe factions, and various small groups with the resources to build the base hull so long as a few of the base Venator hulls produced ended up in their hands. From there the consortium would turn those hulls into Shatter class Destroyers.

Although rather expensive the Shatter class repeatedly proved its worth in engagements. Often times being able to disable or occasionally outright destroy Frigate class ships in one shot depending on the target.
