Half-Life 1 Player Gibs

Description
May or may not require Half-Life: Source; All content required is presumably included, though it's best to have HL:S installed and mounted just in case.

This one works similar or pretty much the same to how Half-Life Co-op's gibs behave; instead of happening from a certain damage threshold (for example, dying to a projectile that does 50 damage), it happens if the damage goes a certain amount of hitpoints more than the health you currently have (for example, dying to a projectile that does 50 damage when you have 10 health left).
It also allows each player to (very slightly :/) customize their gibbing, such as having alien gibs or using the hl2 gibbing sound.

You are able to gib yourself with the "explode" command like in TF2 lol

Server ConVars:
- sv_hl1_playergib (0/1 | Default 1): Enable player gibbing when dying to high damage
- sv_hl1_playergib_fall (0/1 | Default 1): Make fall damage cause gibbing
- sv_hl1_playergib_bullet (0/1 | Default 0): Make bullet damage cause gibbing
- sv_hl1_playergib_threshold (min 0 | Default 40): The amount of damage needed after 0 hp in order to gib (0 = No threshold required)
- sv_hl1_playergib_ragdoll (0/1 | Default 0): Don't remove ragdoll when gibbing

Client ConVars:
- cl_hl1_playergib (0/1 | Default 1): Enable player gibbing (and sounds) clientside (If disabled, players will disappear instead of gibbing)
- cl_hl1_playergib_snd (0-3 | Default 1): The gib sound to use for yourself: 1 = HL1 gib sound, 2 = HL2 gib sound, 3 = TF2 gib sound, 0 = No gib sound
- cl_hl1_playergib_type (0-2 | Default 1): The gib type to use for yourself: 1 = Use hgibs (human gibs), 2 = Use agibs (alien gibs), 0 = Don't use gibs (disappear instead)
- cl_hl1_playergib_snd_vol (0-100 | Default 50): Volume of all gib sounds (clientside)
- cl_hl1_playergib_snd_force (0-4 | Default 0): Force gib sound for all players (clientside): 0 = Don't force gib sound, 1 = Force HL1 gib sound, 2 = Force HL2 gib sound, 3 = Force TF2 gib sound, -1= Force no gib sound
- cl_hl1_playergib_type_force (0-3 | Default 0): Force gib type for all players (clientside): 0 = Don't force gib type, 1 = Force hgibs (human gibs), 2 = Force agibs (alien gibs), -1 = Force no gibs (sound only maybe?)

I wonder if you could extend this to NPCs like NextKurome did for his Goldsrc Gib mod?


And also add a menu that allows you to configure the gib models used?

That is not my issue. That is the issue with the game.
