[HDI] CF-453 Orion

Description
Manufacturer: [HDI] Hephaestus Defense Industries

Series Line: Civilian Product (unlisted)

Ship Class: Cargo Freighter

Registry #: 453

Ship Name: Orion

Designation: CF-453 Orion

The Orion is a survival friendly cargo freighter with atmo flight capabilities. A larger cousin to the Cephis previously posted, the Orion is more stable, has higher fuel capacity, and has no subgrids.

Homing in at just under 2800 blocks, the Orion is a stable, reliable, and versatile ship that can function in both standard survival capacity and is detailed enough with full interior to serve RP purposes to boot.

Sporting a rear access internal hangar, the Orion is able to easily carry a small craft for that can serve several purposes. While unarmed, redundant systems and conveyoring allows the ship to operate even if taking substantial damage.

Full hull with pressurized and spacious interior allows the crew easy path to desired location, comfortable living space, and even space to ferry passengers.

On board refinery and assembly equipment allows the Orion to function as a mobile base for those seeking a nomadic life as they take contracts to deliver cargo.

---
Centrally placed large mag plate allows the Orion to not only collect floating items in space, but also to dock and accept payloads in compatible docking ports for official contracts. Robust vertical thrust allows the ship to lift off with full payload. Multiple docking points offers a wide selection of docking options and refueling access.

---
Ship Specs:

Blocks: 2,743
PCU: 18,550
Mass: 1,621,226

---
This ship, like the Cephis, is inspired by the Drake Interplanetary product 'Vulture'. I am a big fan of the ships from this product line for their generally rugged but reliable design. Feel free to check out Star Citizen if you want to see these ships in their intended environment. Hope you enjoy.

HDI is not responsible for any damage, loss of life, loss of product/profit, when operating this vessel. Once sold, maintenance, insurance, and safe operation falls solely upon the operator/owner. HDI offers quality service and repair parts for their products and following the appropriate venues to make use of those services is highly recommended.

You have an incorrect conveyor block on the mid deck right above the central large hydrogen thruster, to the right of the window facing forwards from the cargo deck. Its a straight connector but its supposed to be a T junction. It breaks the ENTIRE conveyor system for the whole ship. will post pic in discussion.

The production blocks were not filled when testing the load.

What block inventory capacity was the full load thrust tested on? Were all refineries, assemblers, 02, ect. filled with resources as well?

Ah, might have to do some updating on it then.

Great questions! So the hangar thing, turns out that the hangar doors are actually self sealing if they are butting up to each other even if there is a gap unless they did a hotfix that resolved it. Has been that way for years. As far as the refinery area, yes it is intentionally exposed. I wanted to give it the feel of moving 'out' into a industry part of the ship. It may have been poorly implemented but it was a first time effort for that sort of thing.
