I consider it a non-hitscan version of pulse laser, a coilgun with higher caliber.
To make it more than a reskin of coilgun, I made it a common feature to pierce for every ammo type.
It is able to deal with elite enemies more easily than coilgun,
but unable to finish a large creature like endworm quicker than a flak cannon.
To prevent it from overperforming other small turrets, I added Ti-Al alloy to every ammo recipe.

Neat. If I may ask, in what way did you rebalance it? I've been struggling with how to balance this thing myself so I'd love to hear how someone else handled it.
