An escape pod is nice if your ship/station is close to or over a planet when you have an emergency, but if you need to escape from a station and you are far from any planet then an escape shuttle is better.

You can stay in space for a long period of time while coasting. when coasting for long distances you can turn the wings toward the sun and not use the batteries at all. It has all the basics you need to start anew and you can decide where you are going to land to help you better survive.

Has a programmable block with Isy's solar alignment script already installed. once you are coasting toward the destination you have chosen you can just run it and the craft will automatically turn the wings toward the sun.
