Description
A jewelry mod implemented using the game's existing materials system with mechanics that can influence your colonists mood in a variety of ways.



Precious Stone and Jewelry Enhanced is a mod that makes it so colonists now gain a positive mood buff when equipping any stuffable weapons or apparel that are made from precious metals and gems (jade, silver, and gold). There's also three new necklace-like jewelry items, spanning from neolithic to medieval tech levels that make it possible to craft jewelry for the torso out of metallic and stony materials.

FEATURES

Colonists gain mood from wearing precious materials based off of a "shininess" score
  • Stuffable weapons and apparel made of silver or jade are considered "shiny" and increase a pawn's shininess score by 1.
  • Stuffable weapons and apparel made of gold are considered "glistening" and increase a pawn's shininess score by 3.

Colonists are affected uniquely by shininess based on their traits
  • Greedy and jealous colonists both like to gloat over their own possessions. They each receive more mood than others from wearing shiny items from the thought "showing off riches"
  • Ascetic pawns want to have a pure lifestyle. They instead receive a flat -5 to their mood if they have any shininess score greater than 0.

The necklace, pendant necklace, and beads now exist to help you attach precious materials to your colonists
  • All jewelry occupies the neck and torso on the middle layer. They each provide no insulation or armor at all, due to how thin they are.
  • The necklace can be made out of 15 metallic (same as visage mask and slice cap from ideology) at a smithing table once smithing has been researched.
  • The pendant necklace can be made out of 25 stony at a smithing table once smithing has been researched.
  • Beads can be crafted at a crafting spot or tailoring bench at any time with 20 stony. Although they require less materials to craft than pendant necklaces do, they degrade at a slightly faster rate making them slightly less resource efficient.
  • necklaces and pendant necklaces also provide 10% social impact and -10% slave suppression. beads provide half as much of each.

COMPATIBILITY

New material mods
ANY metallic or stony materials with an internal beautyFactor of 2.0 or above are considered to be as shiny as silver and jade and will have the same impact on mood. Those with a beautyFactor of 4.0 or above are considered to be as shiny as gold.
This means that most mods that add new materials to the game should be automatically compatible by default, so long as the values that they assign to their materials are consistent with those in the base game.

Do these affect social impact as well or just mood?I need a way to offset the fact that most of my colonists are missing fingers and toes.

Not yet, I've been meaning to but haven't gotten around to it. until then, the source code for this mod in particular is inside of the mod itself if that's what you're looking for

The Vanilla Apparel Expanded Mod also adds Beads. If it's possible, please consider integrating that by removing either the VAE Mod's Beads or yours, should both be loaded at the same time.
