I've pushed an update implementing this approach.
Or otherway around: On Start give every player an amount of points equal to their health and take points away equally to damage taken.
That way the score will always reflect the health and the player with most points should win at the end.
Do you think there are ties for first because people try to escape other players, or simply have trouble catching up to and knocking out other players? I'd appreciate a response to help me determine what appropriate changes to make.
Depending on the core issue, there are several approaches to take:
- increase damage dealt (which effectively speeds up the game)
- increase the timer (to give more time to knock out other players)
- remove the timer (to force a single survivor as the winner)
Increasing damage and/or the timer could still remain in "ties" if players survive the timer. Removing the timer could result in unnecessarily long matches in some circumstances where players avoid each other.
Perhaps some combination of the options above is what's needed...
Can you make it so that depending on who has the most hp wins? because when I play most of the time only one person or no one dies, and in the end everyone is 1st place but one or two people.
or maybe increase damage a lot, that would also help
I pushed another update and made other adjustments. Thank you for the tip!
Also with the punches. I've seen a game where you punch each other in outer space and it had knockback. I didn't touch the editor so far myself so i don't know how this person did it.
or maybe you can use the gloves from the the new boxing minigame from the devs themselves? i know that you can damage with these and they have knockback. maybe you can adjust it there to be much lower, i dont know
Just now, I've pushed an update to address these concerns; you can see the details in the change notes.
Also, I don't believe there's a way to enable knockback on player punches. If the option becomes available in the future I will enable it.
As it is now it's just button mashing when you encounter someone or you have to fish for stuns. But you can just go out of range of the clock arms to never get hit which makes it very campy.
If you can fix these issues though it would be a great minigame!
