Colonial Ships

Description
Most ships in this ship set are inspired by the Battlestar Galactica franchise. It ranges from small Fighters to larger Battleships. They mostly rely on ballistic weapons and strong defences.

The block groups on most of my ships are normed.

1: everything combat related (weapons and shields)
2: main weapons
3: secondary weapons
4: defensive weapons (or other weaponry)
5: shields
6: engines
7: sensor arrays (or utility)
8: additional utility
9: factories 1 (or additional utility)
0: factories 2 (or additional utility)
(mining Lasers count as both weapons and utility)

Viper Class

Weaponry:

The Viper Class is inspired by the Viper from Battlestar Galactica. It is a small and fast attack ship built for squadron use and can be used for assault or escort missions.


Raptor Class

Weaponry:
- 2 Missile Launchers (HE)
Defences:
- 1 DPS
Engines:
- Forward 94m/s
- Reverse 42m/s
Crew:
- 24 people
Jumpdrive:
- Jumpspeed 10s
- Efficiency 49%

The Raptor Class is inspired by the Raptor from Battlestar Galactica. It is a small missile attack ship built to perform bombing runs. It should be used as attack craft against enemy capital ships.

The Manticore Class is named after the Manticore from Battlestar Galactica Deadlock. It is a frigate with a good balance between armament, defence and speed.


Guardian Class

Weaponry:
- 4 Railguns +211%
- 4 Missile Launchers (EMP)
Defences:
- 20 PDS
- 2 large Shields
- 16 small Shields
Engines:
- Forward 63m/s
- Reverse 32m/s
Crew:
- 256 people
Jumpdrive:

The Guardian Class is a long range artillery ship. It is using Railguns as main weapon and missiles. The ship is supposed to be used as a fire support in larger fleets. Its lack of mobility is compensated by its firepower and defences.


Adamant Class

Weaponry:

- 2 Railguns +84%
- 2 Missile Launchers (EMP)
Defences:
- 10 PDS
- 8 Flak Batteries
- 24 large Shields
- 12 small Shields
Engines:
- Forward 74m/s
- Reverse 30m/s

Jumpdrive:
- Jumpspeed 17s
- Efficiency 82%

The Adamant Class is inspired by the Adamant from Battlestar Galactica Deadlock. It is heavily armored and should be used with secondary crafts. The Railguns and Missiles allow a first strike attack followed by the ship turning to its flank. There the ship can use its Flak Batteries and Shields to defend while the secondary crafts attack the enemy at less protected spots.


Jotunn Class

The Jotunn Class is inspired by the Jotunn from Battlestar Galactica Online. The ship was built for a single purpose, to survive. It is equipt with a large variety of weapons along with the infrastructure to maintain ther ammo suply. Mining lasers and production facilities for any kind of components allow the ship to recover even after a lost battle and without any port left to go to.


Jupiter Class

Weaponry:
- 8 Deck Cannons
- 4 Railguns +126%
- 6 Missile Launchers
(2xEMP + 4xHE)
- 2 Mining Lasers
Defences:
- 14 Flak Batteries
- 25 small Shields
Engines:
- Forward 41m/s
- Reverse 25m/s
Crew:
- 604 people
Jumpdrive:
- Jumpspeed 16s
- Efficiency 81%

The Jupiter Class is inspired by the Jupiter Class from Battlestar Galactica. It is a heavily armed and well armored ship and should be used as frontline Battleship. The Railguns and Missiles allow a first strike attack followed by the ship turning to its flank to use its full potential. However, the four strong railguns also allow it to be used as artillery ship.

I currently don't have the knowledge to create mods like this in the game (but it should not be to difficult). However, the creator of the "Ship Hunter" mod has asked, if he can add some of my ships to this mod, unfortunately I don't know whether he implemented this ships. Maybe if i have some time to spare i can program a Mod with his ships, but this is unlikely.

No I mean, you can add ships to the spawnable ai enemies in career mode, dont know how but ive seen modders do it, would love that for this mod.

No, they are not part of the base game. But i think they would also not really fit to the designs of any fraction.
