Taisho Era Freight Cars

Description.

This set of Japanese freight cars was manufactured in 1914.
It includes an oil tank car, a covered car, and an uncovered car.


Covered wagon WAM1

Covered freight car of the Taisho era, a two-axle freight car.
These wooden freight cars became the standard type after the nationalization of the railroads, and became the basis for the number of cars converted to define train weight and length.


Uncovered freight car Tom 1

Uncovered freight car of the Taisho era (1912-1926), Japan's first double-axle uncovered freight car with a load capacity of 15 tons.
It has a steel door in the center and two plates on the sides that open from the bottom as a door.



Oil tank car Tasa 1

Privately owned freight car of the Taisho era, tri-axle freight car.
It was completed as A27000 class and later renumbered as Tasa 1.
Nippon Oil, Ministry of Railways, Navy Fuel Depot, Asahi Sekiyu, Rising Sun Oil, Nakano Kogyo, Kokura Oil, Baoda Sekiyu, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Japan Land Transport Industry Co.
were the owners of the building at the time of its completion.
