The Fallen Lands is a rebalancing mod which aims to enhance the ARK experience and progression, whilst keeping a somewhat vanilla feel in spite of the massive changes it makes. The mod currently only works properly on The Island, The Center, Scorched Earth, Ragnarok, Aberration, and Procedurally Generated maps, as well as custom maps which use their spawn zones. This will change when the mod as a whole is more established.

Features:

Dinos

The Fallen Lands currently adds 192 new dinos, with more added in every update. They currently come in 5 different tiers: Minor, Elite, Ethereal, Apex, and Elder. Minor dinos are smaller versions of dinos which have mostly lower stats, however have an equivalent amount of damage and special abiltiies which allow them to hold their own. For example, the minor dilo can rapid fire its spit and be placed on the player\'s shoulder, allowing the player a shoulder mounted turret. Elite dinos are larger versions of dinos with higher stats. Dinos in this class that are not usually rideable commonly are, and all whose vanilla counterpart is not stacked with abilities already have additional abilities and utilities, making each of them a useful tame. Ethereal dinos are even more powerful dinos, with glowing eyes and an immunity to mundane forms of percentage health loss such as gnash. All of these carry over the abilities elites had, but are corrospondingly harder to obtain. Apex creatures are untameable roaming boss creatures, which all give gnash to their victims and summon large amounts of minions, making ethereals a requirement for fighting them. The risk of fighting them, however, is worth it, as they drop massive amounts of resources, items and even pre-tamed dinos (more on that later). Elder dinos, while less powerful than apex creatures, are extremely powerful themselves, being far more effective for fighting the more powerful apexes that ethereals fail miserably to defeat. However, they are only tamed with resources harvested from apexes. Elders are also immune to advanced forms of gnash, such as the ethereal gnash given by ethereal gigas.

All of them drop a corresponding essence, which is a rare resource used to craft many of the mod\'s items. In addition to this, all of them, excluding minors, drop their own variant of natural harvesting resources, such as hide, meat, and pelt, which is also used in recipes.

In addition to the main tiers of dinos, there are also additional tiers which branch off from the main tiers, namely elemental and tek creatures. Elemental creatures spawn exclusively in the desert biome and lava biome, giving reason to travel to maps normally left useless. They come in fire, lightning and poison varieties. In addition, an ice variety spawns on Ragnarok. They branch off from the elite class. Tek dinos replace the vanilla tek dinos with these more powerful counterparts, which are tamed by way of crafting, similar to the enforcer. Fully crafted tek dinos can be found as reward for fighting apexes, giving a clear reward to said fights beyond their resources taming elders. In addition to the normal perks of the tiers they branch from, these creatures also have an immunity to torpor and electric attacks. They branch off from the ethereal and apex tiers.

Finally, their are several miscellaneous dinos not found within any tier, though they may have more powerful versions of themselves assigned to a tier. These range from styracosaurus to turkeys to zomdodos. Some of these creatures can easily rival creatures of much higher tier, and all have some form of use or purpose to gameplay. There are also Deitic creatures, creatures of godly power which, while they are all different and not truly organized in tiers, all drop the deitic essence. This tier includes tameable bosses and some other bosses such as the Guardian Seer.

Items

The mod also adds a large pool of items. These include the afforementioned resources gathered from dinos, as well as saddles for the mod\'s creatures, tek dinos spawners, new tools such as the tranq spear, structures such as the fallen workbench and ethereal forge, and other useful items such as the imbued narcotic or wisdom vials.

Changes

In addition to new features, the mod also makes several changes to the game as a whole. This includes enhancing vanilla dinos with new abilities or coveniences, raising the max level to 200 (300 including all ascensions, explorer notes, runes, and chibi levels), and vastly improving the quality of drops.

Plans

The current plans for the mod include to eventually revamp boss fights to make sure modded dinos don\'t make the fight unfairly easy, to support every map, add more creatures to every tier and add new tiers, and, with the help of currently in development map extension companion mods, add every resource to every map, create interesting new scenery, and enable things not typically possible in similar mods (such as adding new spawn zones to enable more interesting distribution of dinos)

Potential Issues

This mod is NOT compatible with:

  • Mods which alter vanilla dinos in any way
  • Mods which add dino spawns in a non-stackable way
  • Mods that directly alter items altered by this mod
  • Mods which alter drop contents

Any mods which do any of these will not work with the mod, however if the mod is first in the load order it should ignore these issues and simply ignore the mod\'s changes. Also keep in mind that maps that do not use vanilla spawn zones will not spawn this mod\'s creatures and creatures from other mods may be unable to consume the mod\'s new meats or utilize instant tame items.

yeah i knock a dino out and i put the meat in there and trans with a 200% tame speed and they just sit there.

The mod does enable passive taming for a lot of dinos but does not disable existing taming methods for anything

would this mod change how taming certain dinos is done? like i can walk up to most things and push E to give them meat or berries. And KOing dino will not tame. Is this something this mod does? The other mods I have are QoL mods. And not sure at all which one would do.

No, you can construct a spawn command from the tags in the sheet. Substitute the tag of the dino you want to spawn in a spawn command for a vanilla dino

there a center redux map that might be fun to try, but not sure if i want to start again being that i was a good effort thru svartheim map then finding out apex and above and a good amount of ethereal did not spawn, so do your self a favor use creature finder on any new maps and see if apex, elders spawn there as svartalheim on it had like 2 or 3 apexes at most
