In 2009, Tyson Fury was a rising prospect in the Heavyweight division, taking on a former Cruiserweight contender on the downward swing of his own career, Lee Swaby. In the duration of this fight, Fury threw a range finding jab, shifting in to follow up with an uppercut. Unfortunately for the future champion, Fury's glove would bounce off Swaby's high guard, deflecting the punch right into the middle of his own face.

While Fury would go on to win by fourth round stoppage with Swaby's corner calling for a halt, remarking later that "I couldn't really feel the other guy's punches so I decided to punch myself in the face."

The Self Uppercut does damage to the attacker, and even has a slight chance to draw blood or score a CRITICAL.
