Kobra EKP-8-02 reflex sight for AKM or AK-47 on MW Base

Russian-made weapon module, which is an electronic collimator sight designed for installation on a wide range of all kinds of weapons, from hunting rifles to army models, which are in service with special purpose units. The sight is designed for accurate and quick aiming by shooting small arms in natural light, as well as at dusk or in the moonlit night.

Its operation consists in forming a bundle of parallel rays, which forms a sighting mark coinciding with the image of target during aiming. The sighting mark and the target are in the same plane, which makes it possible to aim with both one and two eyes, which ensures practically unlimited field of view. When the shooter's eye moves away from the center of the optical axis within the sighting window, the aiming mark will remain on the target and indicate the point of impact of the bullet. The digital control used in the Cobra sight gives the shooter a number of advantages (as compared to the analog control). It provides reliable operation of the electronic system (stability of the main element of the aiming mark when the center mark is changed). In addition, the electronic circuit retains the preset brightness level and type of aiming mark, and the parameters are automatically restored when the sight is switched on again. The optical system of this sight works on the basis of the beam of parallel rays. This parallelism ensures undistorted observation of the target within the field of view, because to the shooter's eye the reflector is a plane-parallel plate. Aiming is possible with both one and two eyes, giving the shooter an unlimited field of view. Cobra has clear aiming marks and brightness adjustment has 16 steps, that makes shooting precise and convenient. A successful shot is due in large part to the luminous markings on the collimator sight when the shooter points it at the target and pulls the trigger. EKP has 4 aiming marks: dot-type mark at 100 m, cross-eye mark at 400 m and over, point-eye mark at 400 m and, finally, combined mark and point-eye. We recommend to use the T-shaped aiming mark as a rangefinder, taking into consideration that the vertical dimension of the T-shaped aiming mark corresponds to about 140 centimeters at a distance of 100 meters.
The sight is completely sealed and does not lose its performance even when completely immersed in water. The reflector of the sight is arranged in such a way, that it passes the light flux coming from the target, completely reflects the beam coming from the emitter and throws it back to the shooter's eye, thus excluding the possibility of appearance of the demasking factor (i.e. the sighting mark is absolutely invisible from the target side). The sight is equipped with reliable fastening, and when rifle is sighted on the particular weapon, it does not fail during shooting and reinstallation. The sight has adjustments scales for range and lateral direction. The controls are left-handed and protected against accidental switching.

Such collimator sight can be installed on almost any weapon of domestic manufacture, as if it is smooth-bore or rifled rifles, carbines, various rifles, automatic rifles and other types of small arms, increasing their combat effectiveness.
