Description
FOR VERSION 1.3!

This is my take on the Piper J-3 Cub, the civilian original to the L-4H Grasshopper.

It's an approximation, not a 1:1 replica. (I know some proportions are a bit messed up.)

Alt controls to fly.
W/S: Variable throttle.
S: Ground brakes.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.*
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right arrow: Roll.

The new aerodynamics in 1.3 is IMO an improvement on the 1.2 version in many ways, but sadly the reduced lift on aerodynamic parts makes it almost impossible for small planes with weak engines to get off the ground. Up to 80-90 kph there's almost no discernable lift and control surfaces have no effect, and if the engine is quite weak it takes forever to reach 80+ kph that you need to be able to take off and the risk of the plane veering off course seems to increase the slower you accelerate.
That means that this plane has a hard time getting up to speed and getting off the ground, especially paired with the constant swerving and veering off problem for prop planes on the ground. It is doable but usually needs some rudder work and then start pressing elevators full up when you get close to 80 kph to take off as soon as possible.
Even with a top speed that is way too high at about 215 kph (140 kph in reality) it's tricky for the plane to take off, but with a weaker engine and closer to a realistic top speed it gets even harder to get off the ground.

If you are having problems with taking off I have made another version with another solution calles "Piper J-3 Cub 1.3 Engine cut-off by Uncle T".

* The real thing does not have any steering on the main landing gear but I added a little to help with the annoying swerving on the ground.

Feel free to edit, but if you re-upload publically in any way please acknowledge the original creation and creator.

Have fun!

Do you mean a version with the CAP markings? Sure I can do that.
BTW There is an improved version of this that can actually take off properly just FYI. I'll use that one for the CAP version. :)
You can find it here.

can you make a civil air patrol version for this because they sank two german subs and protected the coasts during WW2
