Is there maybe a permission issue with the files pr something or maybe i didn't link things correctly? If i want to update stuff i gotta jump through a hoop

You should be able to update models.

once I upload a mod and then try to update it, it becomes a yellow error. I must load the model in onto a new mod to see it properly

Don't worry so much about the qc or vmt, I figured out it was the game's lack of refreshing and potentially a bug regarding linking a model beyond that of the first one upon a game startup. I didn't see any console errors though

It seems I have a problem with linking models to an already uploaded mod, is it just not possible anymore

Move your custom sword models into 'Blade Symphony/berimbau/models/[SteamID]/[Your sword name]' and materials into 'Blade Symphony/berimbau/materials/models/[SteamID]/[Your sword name]' . You only need to do this if you're having problems with the game not recognizing the model you want to choose though. If you're able to link the models after a game restart, then don't bother doing this.

Models in 'workshop/models/[SteamID]/[Your sword name]' and materials in 'workshop/materials/models/[SteamID]/[Your sword name]'' . I don't know why there needs to be a models folder in materials.

I was having trouble with the game not recognizing anything. I have to restart the game to link it. so just workshop/materials/models? or should it be workshop/models? in regards to materials. then like workshop/models/............ ? I think I'm not understanding well. Can you post a screenshot maybe?

Sweet. Thankfully its not too difficult to learn. .vmt contains data and parameters pertaining to the material, and .qc's. contain all the info on the model itself(mesh, materials, collision model, anims, etc). Valve Developer Community contains plenty more info if you need it.

If you're having trouble with HLMV or Blade Symphony not recognising files, try adding "workshop/" before the paths in your .qc and .vmt docs, or migrate your sword data directly into the games materials and models folder.
