Tall Pines

Description
NEW UPDATE INCOMING: Just waiting on you guys to tell me if skeletons are on the map. Once I hear from someone, I'll add the new update.

Tall Pines.
Way back in the day, this vast forested valley was a national park, known for its majestically tall pine trees that gave it it's name. Many came from far and wide, just to catch a glimpse of these mighty trees, to go for hikes along the winding trails, to stay for a relaxing week at the resort town of Ponderosa, or spend a weekend camping at the plentiful campgrounds. Yes, Tall Pines was a wonderful place for one to get away from the city and to enjoy the beauty of nature. But the park had a secret, a secret that was kept hidden from the eyes of the public for many years. That is, until a nature photographer, randomly by chance, photographed it while taking a picture of, of all things, a squirrel. It was a military outpost and a giant bunker door, situated below the overlook, right in the middle of the park.

Once word about the military's activities in the park had gotten out, and the picture made the headlines, the public started raising a fuss. But then China invaded Anchorage and the public's attention turned to the war, the matter with Tall Pines all but forgotten. And then, the bombs dropped. As mushroom clouds bloomed all across the nation, the valley of Tall Pines was, miraculously, spared its baptism by nuclear fire, but it did not remain unscathed.

The first to hit was the electromagnetic pulse created by the few bombs that detonated before they could reach their intended targets. It washed over the valley like an invisible wave, knocking out all electronics and vehicles, causing mass confusion and chaos. Mere minutes after the pulse hit, clouds of nuclear fallout descended upon the valley, the radioactive smog killing everything it touched. Only a small amount of the local population managed to survive, making it into the nearest underground shelters in the nick of time. For six days they remained huddled there in their hiding places, as the smog completely engulfed the valley, praying for a miracle. But on the seventh day, they felt it: the earth began to tremble and the air was filled with a loud vibrating hum, and then, almost like it was divine intervention, the fallout cleared away, allowing the sun to once again bath the forest in its life giving rays. The contaminated soil was cleansed and the spring fed streams and rivers cleared up once more.

The trembling eventually stopped and the valley was once again back to the way it was before, the air filled with the sound of birdsong, like the previous six days had never happened. The survivors crawled out of their shelters, took in the serene beauty and the devastation that surrounded them, and fell to their knees in prayer and mourning, thankful to be alive, and filled with sorrow for all that had been lost.

To this day, two hundred and change years later, no one knows for certain the cause of the miracle that saved Tall Pines from its destruction. Many believe it was the hand of God that had come down from the heavens and pushed the radiation away and continues to protect them. But there are a small few who think that whatever the military had hidden inside the bunker, behind that big door, was the reason the nuclear fallout cleared away, and was keeping it from coming back. Over the years, many have tried to pry the door open, but all attempts ended in failure. And so, the mystery of what lay behind the door, remains exactly that, a mystery.

But Tall Pines' luck, and that of the people who call the valley their home, may just be running out.

Bands of 'Legionaries' have been seen entering the fringe of the valley to the south. A convoy of military trucks, all bearing the insignia of a two headed bear, was spotted approaching down the old highway from the west. The Red Brigade, a militant group known for their socialistic ways, has begun to violently expand their territory. The Tall Pines Rangers, the staunch defenders of the valley, are spread too thin, and are doing all they can to hold their ground against the surging red tide. And finally, Rumors of travelers and patrols seemingly vanishing into thin air, only for their mutilated bodies to be discovered strung up in chains days later, have begun to spread. Will the valley of Tall Pines, the last remaining piece of the old world, survive the coming conflict, or will it finally be burned to ashes in the fires of war?

Now that the intro is out of the way, allow me to give you the details:
Tall pines is a work of fiction and is not a real place in the Fallout universe. I made this map completely from scratch, its not a modified vanilla map like my fort map. It's pretty big too, so you have free range to do whatever you want on it. It's just a normal map, so there's no mission and its not made for skirmish or conquest. While most of the assets used to make this map are from the game itself, the Fallout assets require Colt's Fallout mod. Hope you guys like the map and have fun!

Extras:
Now like I said above, Tall Pines is made up. So, to go along with a made up place, there are also made up factions. The first faction is called: the Red Brigade. This faction is mostly militant in nature, they are also real big believers in Socialism and that it will bring order and prosperity to the wasteland. Because of this, their look is heavily influenced by the former Soviet Union and their flag is the hammer and sickle. They are a recent addition to Tall Pines and, at first, were just a nuisance and weren't all that violent, but recently they've upped their game, outright attacking caravans and settlements and expanding their territory. Maybe it has something to do with those gold coins they've started carrying around.

The second faction is called: the Tall Pines Rangers. These guys are also a military faction, but unlike the Brigade, they are the protectors of Tall Pines. They've taken over a small abandoned military armory and have outfitted themselves with the gear and equipment that was there. They've trained themselves in the pre-war United States Army tactics and strategies. Their creed is: "To defend all others from enemies, both foreign and domestic." So far, the TPR has been able to hold their ground against the Red Brigade, but now that it seems the Brigade has a new backer, it's only a matter of time before they're pushed back. Maybe the arrival of this 'NCR' convoy will help turn the tide.

I have uploaded the Red Brigade skins that OoEliteFuryoO had made for me as a separate mod. You can now use them! I recommend for the Tall Pines factions that you use the vanilla Russians for the base units of the Red Brigade. Red Brigade skins for the Russians, and OoEliteFuryoO's new prewar US faction for the Tall Pines Rangers. I recommend the Voices of War mod to give these two factions voices. Enjoy.

I am not very well versed when it comes to the editor. Is there a way in which I can configure your maps for these game modes? Do I have permission to share it if I find a way to? I'll give credit ofc.
