Description
This script wasn't originally made by me. I just adjusted a few things that would make the weapon stand a better chance in actual campaigns.

This gun is my absolute favourite in the Metro series, and I'm really happy that this mod even exists.

I also made a mod for an infinite ammo version with extra mag size, just so that you can go bananas, if you want to.

Original description: (I edited it a little, so that it's accurate to the changes I made to the script)

Will only work on servers with this script installed (e.g. your own local).

+ Sniper Rifle ammo type (def. 180 reserve ammo)
+ 40 shells in a mag (must reload when in single digits)
+ Damage Per Shot: 300 (25 x 12 pellets)
+ slightly slower firing speed
+ shotgun muzzleflash
+ correct casings (shells) being ejected in 3rd person
+ HUD icon for ammo



Okay, so I encountered a fault in the script where, instead of reloading when the ammo count reaches 0, you just toss away the gun, no matter the amount of reserve ammo.
The only way to fix it is to install a plugin, because this feature of the weapon is hardcoded into the game, which would diasble this problem, but also make it so that you couldn't join servers that are VAC supported, aka most of them.
And because of that, I decided to increase the mag size to 40 from 20, and to tell you that when the ammo count gets into the single digits, reload as soon as possible. I'm sorry I couldn't find a better solution, and I hope you'll still be able to have fun with the weapon regardless.

Thank you for reminding me I left these half finished!
I didn't really playtest these scripts too much once I got them out, I didn't realize the 30 shell mag size was this big a problem.
Also, the Infinite Ammo one was broken, but I never got back around to fixing it once I figured out what I did wrong.

Tested out both weapons, 40 round increase is an acceptable buff while the infinite ammo version is working out just fine. Thank you for updating both weapons.

I wont, this is the version that' supposed to be somewhat more realistic.
If you want to shoot the gun infinitely, I recommend the Infinite Ammo version. I recently got it fixed, so it actually works as intended.

Yeah, I managed to find an answer.
I would need to use a plugin to disable that feature of the M60, but then I wouldn't be able to join any VAC supported servers.
So, I'm just gonna up the mag size to 30, and tell people to reload religiously once their ammo count reaches the single digits.

My knowledge of custom weapon scripts isn't all that great, but in my experience I haven't found a way to disable that characteristic. You might be able to ask around on the forums though.

the gun being tossed when mag is empty is a characteristic hard-coded into the m60
