Description
FOR VERSION 1.3! GROUND!

My version of the iconic Avro Lancaster Mk I heavy bomber.

It's an approximation, not a 1:1 replica.

This is the famous Dam Buster version used during operation Chastice targeting dams in the Ruhr area. The Möhne and Edersee dams were breached, and the Sorpe Dam sustained minor damage.

The plane is armed with the equally famous "Upkeep" bouncing bomb designed to bounce on the surface of the water, hit the dam and sink to a proper depth before it detonated in order to cause maximum possible damage.

This bomb is intended for dropping on ground!

It's also armed with 2 + 2 + 4 machine guns in nose, dorsal and rear turrets.

Alt controls to fly.
W/S: Variable throttle.
S: Ground brakes.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right arrow: Roll.
X/Disable steering: Landing gear.
B/Beacon: Retractable landing lights and elevation indicator for bomb drop. *
Fire action 1/Num 1: Upkeep bouncing bomb.

Fire in the engines!
PgUp-PgDn/Auxiliary (without Alt): Fire in engine one.
Alt + PgUp-PgDn/Auxiliary: Fire in engine two.
L/Headlights: Fire in engine three.
K/Hazard light: Fire in engine four.
I can't stop the engines since the plane won't fly with lopsided engines but you get a lot of smoke and some flames (as in orange smoke) for RP purposes.

To release the bomb fly low (10-20 metres) and slow (180-220 kph) and release.
It takes 2 seconds for the bomb to get spinning before it is released so there is a 2 second delay before it is actually dropped.
The bomb will travel for about 25 seconds before it explodes after 30 seconds.

* They used converging light beams shining down on the right hand side of the plane to gauge the correct altitude over the water surface to release the bomb. The converging lights should form a figure Eight/8 on the surface below, then the plane is at the right altitude (in reality it was 60 feet or about 18 metres and it's close to that in this version). Sadly in the game this only works over solid ground since the water surface apparently can not be illuminated so I made this ground version too.

A green light will light up in the cockpit when the bouncing bomb is away.

The turrets are controlled from their respective seat. Alt controls.
Arrow keys/Mouse: Aim.
Fire action/Num 1: Fire.

Camera 1: Bomb sight.
Camera 2: Nose turret.
Camera 3: Dorsal turret.
Camera 4: Rear turret.

Feel free to edit, but if you re-upload publically in any way please acknowledge the original creation and creator.

Have fun!

NOTE! DOES NOT CURRENTLY WORK IN 1.4 DUE TO CHANGES IN MATERIAL PHYSICS AND PROPERTIES!!! It breaks up on contact with the ground since things are more "brittle" now.

I will probably hold off building any more new planes until 1.3 is officially released though since you never know what last minute changes might be made to aerodynamics and I already have 100+ version 1.2 planes to edit once again.

Yeah it's on my list (main reason to make the G4M is to attach the Ohka to it tbh) so i'll get to it sooner or later. ;)

Suggestion: Mitsubishi G4M with Bombs or Ohka with the same system as Fritz X?
