Oldworld Repeating Crossbows

Description
[FIRST ATTEMPT AT MODDING, PLEASE BE GENTLE]

Have you ever played Kenshi, loved it's Harpoon turrets, found out that those very turrets also come with Dual-Barrel and Multi-Barrel variants, and went "Gee, I would love to have that as a handheld variant!" in order to scare off a pack of vicious Beak Things and rampaging Gorillos? Well have I a deal for you!

The Oldworld Repeating Crossbows mod will scratch that itch with two crossbows (using the same skins as Mk I and Mk II Oldworlds respectively, I'm not an modeller by any means) which you can buy at any high-value Crossbow shop for the same price as their single-shot counterparts (blueprints sold separately... if they work, not quite had full time to test it out outside a quick sandbox test)! Just look for the "(Burst)" at the end of the crossbow's name to tell you got the right crossbow.

What makes these weapons of mass destruction different than any other bog-standard Old-World Crossbow? The velocity of these arrows are faster from the stronger cords, along with greater minimal range for even your shoddy remakes, and the biggest appeal: they shoot more arrows than the tedious one-at-a-time you've grown accustomed to. Mk I have the brilliant use of firing 3 at rapid succession, whilst it's bigger brother: the Mk II, fires a whopping 6 at speeds likened to those stationary Multi-Barrel Harpoon Gun I alluded to earlier. Guaranteed to put a Beak Thing down in seconds with just one man, and best still: the absolute unit reloads like it's just only loading ONE ARROW in the chamber! (archers may still need to be as skilled in using the crossbows to reload them more efficiently).

(take this next point with salt, not sure if they'll actually use it, and you probably won't know until they start firing at you) And it's not just you who get to use them: the Shinobi Guards and Tech Hunters themselves may just be sporting them as well, so be on the lookout in case you've upset them enough for them to stick you with 3 or 6 arrows in your general direction.

Obviously these were not made with balance (or art) in mind, this was made in the interest for rapid firing handhelds (and also kinda to learn modding in general), if it works for you: brilliant, if not: give's a shout, I'll try and troubleshoot it with you. I've not the foggiest idea if it's compatible with any of the major overhauls to Kenshi, so go on the assumption it isn't. Anyway, enjoy the mod, it's my first go at it, so feedback from the subbed is greatly appreciated. Also: any mention of a prominent real-world Chinese figure is used anecdotally to sell the crossbows more fancifully.

@policemam there should be Blueprints at any major Crossbow sellers, but your best bet will be in Black Desert City to find them all. If you are running it with Genesis: then I am afraid there is no way to obtain blueprints for the weapons, but you can at least get the Crossbows with little trouble.

Indeed, that does sound terrifying!

@jasonmv I believe there was one that looked like a Skeleton version of a Beak Thing that shot harpoons at the player. Scary stuff dealing with Beak Things alone, but skeleton ones brings shudders to everyone's spines.

@Flamewh33l Thank you! You've seen mods with ranged attack animals? Do you remember which ones? That's why I started working on it myself, no luck finding that type of mod.

@jasonmv hahaha! I've seen some mods that've made ranged attacking animals, but i don't know if you'll have any luck getting these crossbows on them Sect. Spiders. if you do manage to get it working though: you're free to do as you please with them.

Great! Now to figure out how to make this equipable by my security spider follower...

@infernusMatrix, yeah that is the only problem with these things. I upped the speed for the sole purpose that they *could* catch someone whose running for their lives, but i didn't think it'd be that big an increase that it prevents you from doing well-aimed micro to dodge the projectiles. bit weird you having issues with the limited range though, if anything: these have the same or a bit more range than the original Oldworlds,

And yeah, everything barring the "Magazine" "Projectile Speed" is the same as the original Oldworlds, so if you want to actually hit a target: you're better off giving them to people who know how to shoot them or go "Leviathan Season" hunting.

The only complaint would be these type of crossbows were very inaccurate and had more limited range. They were given to peasants or people with very little training, their power can from the sheer amount of bolts you could pepper an area with.

Although because of how fast some things can run/move in Kenshi I am not sure how you could balance this with the arrows firing at crazy speeds.
