Claim Throne AI Improvements

Leírás
It's very rare to see ambitious and greedy AI vassals starting a scheme to claim their liege's title. Not because they don't have the right personality, but simply because they haven't unlocked the meritocracy perk and are stuck on their own lifestyle focus.

This mod fixes that: It will ensure that AI vassal characters with the right personality (greedy, ambitious, etc) will focus on a stewardship lifestyle and prioritize picking the meritocracy perk. Once the perk is gained, they will return to their "normal" lifestyle focus.

This makes the game more realistic, and interesting (you will see more internal disputes over claims)

Modding info

This mod changes the following scripted_triggers:
* can_start_new_lifestyle_tree_trigger (to ensure the AI is capable of switching lifestyle focuses properly)

This mod changes the following perks:
* meritocracy_perk (to increase the auto selection weight which is used by the AI)

Has anyone tried this one for the RtP DLC?

hey just wanna say the can_start_new_lifestyle_tree_trigger rework in this mod fixes a big time issue I found during an EK2 run. Since some characters live hundreds of years and I'm a nosy bitch I'm always looking at other rulers. Noticed at some point that AI rulers stop spending perk points, and its completely related to the code in that trigger being crap.

I don't get the logic enough to know why this fixes it, but I figured out how to translate/extend the fix into EK2 with the magic perks, and voila they started spending again and switching between trees.

HUGE FIX dude I cannot thank you enough. My research into this shows bug reports on the official forums for this exact issue from 2020 and reposts as recently as late 2023, so I doubt that a real fix from paradox is coming anytime soon. I was basically done playing cause of this and now I'm hype af again, CHEERS KING

is this still works ?
Ed Balls 2023. aug. 18., 11:11
@eztoom yeah but they'll never actually go for the claim throne perk which is required, so only ai with stewardship education will do it without this mod

this mod works perfectly fine, though it kind of makes AI empires even weaker, so use if that's what you want.

Doesn't the ai already try to do claim throne schemes.

I will put you on friends and give you access to what I did. Expect a friend request in a few hours. I would love to work on it together.

Currently, I'm tinkering with your code to include an override to make it more efficient. I will also include a read me just for you.

See you soon

@gabriellebotti Hey! I´m not sure I understood what you meant with what you changed with your own fork of the mod, but Im open to improving this! If you send me the code I´ll update the mod and credit you!

@gabriellebotti Sure, we can ;)

@alegdansk

Obviously planning to do that but I wanted to give SIgma a week notice to jump onboard.

I'm thoroughly testing it and so far, it significantly changed the behaviour of only three IA in a sixty years test campaign. I was so overjoyed when two randow counties in siberia and sub-sahara got from 1 development to +8 and +12 respectively. But it still did not felt like a huge improvement compare to vanilla.

I can upload it on private though and let you beta-test it. It would help me tremendously. But you would have to go through the trouble of collecting data about which counties developed over their neighbour, if the current or previous holder had the diligent trait and if there is no other factor explaining the development so I could benchmark it against vanilla.
