Koi-Koi (Hanafuda)

Description
Traditional Japanese Hanafuda cards with instructions on how to play Koi-Koi. This is a variant of my Hanafuda card deck with instructions for Koi-Koi and a grid.

Koi-koi

Koi-Koi is a simple matching game for two players. Points for certain hands may vary between "house" rules.

# General Methodology

There are 12 rounds of matching called Months. Each month begins with setup and follows the same turn order and turn actions.

Additionally, each suit (a specific type of flower/plant) is tied to a single month, and can change the available win for that month.

Cards placed in front of you after matching are the only cards that count towards a winning set.

# How to Win

A player calls their win (when to do so is described in "Turn Actions"). That player then scores their hand according to the hand scoring rules, and adds those points to their sum.

After all twelve months, the player with the most points wins.

# Setup

* Shuffle the deck!
* Deal 4 to each player
* Deal 4 face up on the table
* Deal 4 to each player
* Deal 4 face up on the table

# Turn Order

* Month is marked as "January"
* Dealer goes first
* Winner of round becomes new "dealer"
* Month advances
* Setup is repeated

# Before you start (after Setup)

These are 3 conditions that indicate a bad shuffle and immediately end the round. They're pretty rare:

1) If all four cards of a single month are on the table, the dealer automatically loses, and the other player becomes dealer. (no points to either player)

2) If a player has all four cards of a single month in his hand, that player automatically wins (+6 points to winner)

3) If a player has four pairs (four sets of two, where the two belong to a single month), that player automatically wins (+6 points to winner)

# Turn Actions

1) Attempt to match a card from your hand to a card on the table of the same month. If you cannot make a match (or choose not to for some reason), you must instead place a card on the table (NOTE: You may not place a card on the table if it can be matched). If you can make a match, place these cards in front of you.

2) Attempt to match the top card of the deck to a card on the table of the same month. If you cannot make a match you must instead place that card on the table.

3) Check the cards in front of you for new "wins." If you have a new win, you must either call "Win" to end the round, or "Koi-Koi" to declare a continuation.

If the last player finishes his 8th turn and cannot call a win, the dealer automatically wins and gains 6 points.

# Sake Cup

The Sake Cup card counts as both an "animal" and a "plain" at the same time (so if you have 9 plains and 4 animals and the sake cup, you have the animal winning set and the plains winning set @ 2 points)

I correct myself. All the cards are named correctly, it simply wasn't showing the popup in the search menu because the whole name was visible.

However, one of your chrysanthemums is still labeled as October.

Several cards have incorrect months or have no names at all. This is virtually unusable.
