The Y7100's were a small class of shunter trains used by the SNCF since 1958 up until fairly recently. Despite being shunters the occasionally were used on mainline services for short distances.

How to start up
- Enter the cabin
- Flip to on the green breaker and the two grey ones (main, engine, instrumentation)
- in front of the 'front' seat, pull the "Idle throttle" up to value 1
- between the front windows, hold down "starter" until the engine begins running (see RPS indicator)
- Decrease the idle throttle to approximately value 0.5
- near the breakers, turn the manual lever until the brake light turns off
- On the main panel, select travel direction, unlock the brake switch and use the throttles to drive.
- Putting the throttles into negative activates braking.

Enabling the higher speed setting
- Exit the cabin via the front right door (long nose side)
- go all around to the opposite side of the door (front left side)
- open the hatch and hold down the lime key switch
- close the hatch and return to work

Turning off the locomotive
- Simply set the idle throttle to 0, recommended to shift the locomotive into neutral direction and engage brakes.

Other information
- Keep an eye on temperature, when hauling heavy loads or long distances, consider taking a break when the engine hits 100°C to let it cool.
- Need extra electricity when being towed? Simply shift into a direction, a connected generator will be driven by the wheels.
