Special conditions of detention: MOG Iota-1 "Dream Hunters" and MOG Iota-2 "Wind Catchers" are constantly engaged in monitoring the news for reports of cases of sudden violent death associated with sleep deprivation, investigating such cases and searching for and neutralizing the survivors of SCP-966.

The four individuals of SCP-966 maintained by the Foundation (three males of SCP-966-1, SCP-966-3 and SCP-966-4 and a female of SCP-966-2) should be kept in a room 10 * 10 meters with steel walls sheathed with lead sheets located in the ██. Description: SCP-966 are predatory animals resembling hairless finger-walking humans with a long face and a mouth full of needle-like teeth. On each paw of the creature grows five claws, reaching 20 cm in length. The claws are sharp, but very brittle, so they are not suitable for combat. The height of SCP-966 ranges from 1.4 to 1.6 meters, the weight reaches 30 kilograms. The physical strength of SCP-966 is small because the creatures' bones are hollow and the density of muscle tissue is small. It seems that they don't need sleep as a way to rest; instead, they stop moving from time to time and fall into a stupor lasting 3-5 minutes.

SCP-966 is visible only in the wavelength range from 700 to 900 nanometers. This applies to all SCP-966 tissues regardless of their condition. If their skin, muscles or internal organs have suffered second or third degree burns, the affected areas will be visible in the wavelength range from 360 to 900 nanometers.

SCP-966 feeds on medium and large animals, including humans. They hunt alone or in pairs. The method of hunting consists in emitting a single pulse of a previously unknown type of waves (informally called waves in honor of the late Dr.), which permanently deprive their victim of the ability to enter the phases of slow and rem sleep. The ability to fall into a microson is also lost. The radius of action of the waves is up to 20 meters, while it has been experimentally established that post-transition metals, especially lead, block the propagation of these waves.

All attempts to put the victims of SCP-966 to sleep have failed. Unconsciousness is still possible, but usually has a disastrous effect on the victim, because it does not provide real rest.

Having deprived its victim of sleep, SCP-966 will pursue it until it loses the ability to move from lack of sleep. After that, SCP-966 begins to eat its victim. During the pursuit of SCP-966, they show great agility and are able to move silently. Sometimes they intentionally make threatening sounds to exhaust the victim, and especially persistent victims of SCP-966 may even attack.

In addition to the symptoms of sleep deprivation, some victims of SCP-966 exhibited extremely vivid hallucinations and sudden bouts of gratuitous anger. It is believed that this is caused by prolonged exposure to waves. It is unknown why SCP-966 in some cases irradiate their victim constantly. According to one hypothesis, SCP-966 does this when they are very hungry in order to exhaust their victim faster, both physically and mentally.

SCP-966 is ubiquitous in the wild. Since their first discovery in 1922, the Organization has significantly reduced their numbers, although they are still often found in many countries, especially in █████ ███████.
