Description
Reach the smoking hot iterator at the top!
Slug King is a region mod for Rain World inspired by the casual platformer, Jump King. Experience Rain World platforming like never before!



The particles feature provided by region kit seems to be broken in the newest versions. I have not thoroughly tested which version the problem was introduced in, but using version 3.3 appears to fix the problem. In order to use older versions of region kit you must unsubscribe from region kit and then go the the github page to download an older version. After that, extract the folder and place it in your mods folder.

This region received limited playtesting (my only tester never finished it) so you will likely encounter a couple bugs here and there. Please let me know and I will try to fix them.

Please play as survivor on a fresh save file. Do not play as any other slugcat.

Make sure you have the most recent version of regionkit installed!

Please, for the love of Five Pebbles, don't use dev tools or warp mod. This is not like other regions where the primary purpose is just to look at all of the pretty rooms. You are supposed to play it from start to finish. Teleporting around a normal region won't affect your experience too much. Here, it makes the region completely pointless.

More Slugcats Compatibility
This region doesn't play very nicely with MSC right now. While it probably won't cause any game breaking bugs if you have it enabled, spearmaster will be stuck in their corner of outskirts. I have not encountered any other problems so far.

Known Issues
Outskirts map is a little broken.
Spearmaster spawn is isolated from the rest of outskirts.

Common Fixes
I thought I wouldn't have to mention this since it's so common, but one person has already encountered this. If you had modded you game prior to downpour and are having trouble with mods, go to your library, right click Rain World, hover over "Manage," click "Browse Local Files," delete your BepInEx folder, then verify integrity of game cache (right click RW in your library, click "Properties," click "Local Files," click "Verify integrity of game files.") Then try to use your mods again.

Yes would be cool to see another region from you! Lot of low effort/meme stuff as of late that is not scratching the challenge level itch.

it was shrub who requested i do this and i may or may not do another one for going up only using 2 ctfs and nothing else and then falling back down but i'll take a break before i do it if i even do it, also the "tas only flight tech" is not really tas only considering like half of the discord movement channel can ctf

This is the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Very nicely done. Glad I finally got to see tas only flight tech in action as well. The fact that someone made a tas of my like two year old mod is really neat. Almost makes me want to continue work on a sequel... or at least fix the broken wind particles.

it's ~3min 2s from the gate entrance to the top pipe exit of the end room, wind had to be removed due to randomness issues and i also removed the 0g of the last room cause i though that wiggle flight/ctf would look funnier

While I suppose I could implement such a gate, there is very little reason to. This mod only really makes sense as a stand-alone, and it's not exactly difficult to simply disable other mods. Most content mods won't work with this mod anyways. Additionally, the only effect of adding this gate would be to allow spearmaster access to the region. All slugcats other than monk and survivor have unique movement mechanics, making most of the jumps substantially easier. Hunter only gains a slight advantage from its movement speed, but spearmaster and the other MSC slugcats all have exceptionally overpowered movement mechanics that would trivialize any challenge that is present in this mod. So, I suppose what I am saying is that there is no reason to let spearmaster into this region, as playing this slugcat would replace any existing content with alternating holding grab and pressing throw.

Maybe you could just like, add a gate from Spearmaster's Outskirts to the fake Outskirts that Survivor spawns in?
