The SV 44-120[2] (2006) 'Draak' (Foarblyd 4678-2006) is a modern armoured fighting vehicle in use with the Frisian Armed Forces' light manoeuvre brigades, effectively being a modern development of an older prototype MBT from the mid 1960s. Model 2006 Draak MBTs are currently undergoing an upgrade process to the standard of the Draak model 2028.

The Draak is classified in the Frisian Armed Forces as a light main battle tank, being intended to access regions that other MBTs of the time would not be able to effectively fight in, such as softer, swampier terrain present in the northwest of the country, and also for usage in overseas colonial territories and international deployments. The Draak has a modular design to facilitate this, with ERA panels being able to be mounted and removed based on the situation at hand. The Draak is fitted with a domestic modification of the Rh-120 120mm cannon, as well as a coaxial 30mm autocannon with 100 rounds of reserve.

The Draak is currently in limited service in Frisian overseas territories, and has been exported to a multitude of nations where it continues to serve to this day. It was made famous by its service in the Russo-Ukraine war in 2023, when 234 of them were exported to Ukraine, and performed phenomenally (in part due to their similarities to eastern bloc designs).

The full name of the Draak MBT is 'Striidvoertuig, striid spoarwein, 44 ton, 120 millimeter wichtichste kanon; model 2, ferzje 2006 - 'Draak' wichtichste slach striidvoertuig (WSS); Foarblyd 4678-2006'.

How do I set up the vehicle to fire?
Enter the gunner's position (left) and flick on the three flip switches. Two MFDs will pop up - on the larger one, select the second button at the bottom to bring up the button panel. Disable the 'SAFE' switch and enable other functions at your leisure. You can scroll down to access some of the other values by using the scroll bar on the right side.
