Carrack Factory Pod [Reforged]

Description
CV, Core1, Unlock Level 12, Class 1

Production module for Carrack-ILC. Reforged Galaxy/Eden 1.9.

Works only in Reforged Galaxy and Reforged Eden. This CV uses parts only available in Reforged-based scenarios.

This is a custom-fit production module for JRandall's Carrack-ILC. The idea originated from XCaliber's[www.twitch.tv] Anvil Community Server RE season 5 playthrough where he suspected that a dedicated "solar-powered" pod for promethium hydrocell production could be docked on the underside HV mounting deck.

This implementation contains a single 380k cargo controller and enough solar panels to run the one installed advanced constructor without burning any fuel. Although intended for fuel production, it can obviously be used for any production purpose.

It is designed to dock completly flush against the bottom of the Carrack. I recommend docking the pod while in space. Level the Carrack using the 'O' key. Then pilot the pod and move it into position below the HV deck. Hold the 'O' key and press spacebar to push up against the deck, then 'W' to push forward. The sloped edges of the HV deck should shake you into place, and the pod will stop when it bumps into the front edge of the deck. After a little wiggling it should mount completely flush, and you will hear the docking sound. Turn off the thrusters and enjoy your new constructor.

The pod is short enough to not interfere with the landing clearance of the Carrack. However, since the pod counts as a docked ship you will not be able to dock the Carrack to another carrier without first undocking the pod.

@garaman well snap modules are a hard concept for me i will take it into creative and try it before i spawn it in game i guess it having its own CPU does help :) out alot thanks cant wait to have it on my carrack in game would be nice if there was a version of it with this already built in

@striker88 Nope, leave the core. Once it docks just turn off the thrusters. It just remains as a docked ship doing its thing.
Murder-H0BO 11 Jul, 2023 @ 12:51pm
@garaman so once its docked you just remove the core?

@striker88 Once you spawn it you can see the pilot seat at the rear-left of the ship. Once you are in you can use the instructions I detailed in the workshop description above to dock it. Just make sure that the pod is the same faction as your Carrack if you are in a faction.

i dont even know how to attach this to the ship

@Garaman thanks for confirming. I figured it was something like that. My compliments on a great add to the already great ship.

@BlindMelonhead The "mobile solar panels" are actually fake solar panels. They just reduce power consumption passively by 50 or 100w based on the size. They don't need to see the sun, they won't show anything in the solar statistics, and their lights won't work correctly. But that -1.49kW power usage is where the magic happens.

When I look at the statistics it's showing zero solar output even though I'm parked right next to a sun. Am I misinterpreting the stats page? It is showing -1.49kW power usage so maybe that's where the solar is going
