Baron Class Pocket Battleship

"Built by the APF as a result of the need for more powerful warships to fend off the dreaded RBN fleets the Baron was designed to operate alongside the D-Class Destroyer giving APF fleets a major boost in firepower. While the advanced Actium class battleships were effective in this role, they were incredibly expensive and large vessels and as such only 2 had been built. While the D-Class was the first attempt to modernize the fleet it quickly became clear as war broke out with the RBN that they would not be enough. Weighing around 1.8 Million KG the Baron was armed with 12 spinal railguns, 5 triple barrel artillery turrets, and 2 gatling turrets for point defense. This impressive firepower was intended to slice through even the thickest armor of Keldab class battleships. While quite maneuverable and easily capable of 1g planetary flight the Baron was much more lightly armored than other main line warships. The first model, BB-04, entered service shortly after the RBN invaded APF space and was quickly deployed alongside its sister ships in an effort to slow the RBN's advances."
