フォレスター（FORESTER）は、SUBARU（旧・富士重工業）が1997年から製造・販売しているミドルクラスのクロスオーバーSUVである。

プラットフォームをインプレッサと共有し、モノコック構造を持つことからクロスオーバーSUVに分類される。車高を下げて舗装道での安定性を高めた「クロススポーツシリーズ」や、STIによるカスタマイズが施されたバージョンも設定されるなど、悪路での走行を可能にする車高を確保しつつ、低重心で高出力のエンジンという組み合わせは舗装路でも高い走破性を確保している。全てのグレードで、縦置き水平対向エンジンと四輪駆動を組み合わせる「シンメトリカルAWD」が採用される。

ここでは4代目後期モデル(SJ5/SJG型)について紹介する。

2015年4月、特別仕様車「2.0i-L EyeSight Proud Edition」が発表された（6月1日発売）。同年11月、大幅改良が行われた。キャッチフレーズは「新しい自分に会いに行こう。」で、CMソングにはスピッツの「渚」が起用された。外観はフロントフェイスを刷新し、ワイド感を表現したフロントグリル・フロントバンパー（フロントバンパーは「S-Limited」を除くNA車のみ）を採用。

リアコンビランプは新デザインとなったヘッドランプ同様にコの字型のモチーフを採用し、赤いレンズを上方に集約。17インチアルミホイールは燃費性能も考慮して空力性能に優れたデザインに変更し、ターボ車に装備の18インチアルミホイールも新デザインに変更した。ボディカラーは「ディープシーブルー・パール」、「バーニッシュドブロンズ・メタリック」と入れ替えで「ダークブルー・パール」、「セピアブロンズ・メタリック」を設定した。

The exterior has a revamped front face, and a front grille and front bumper that expresses a wide feeling (the front bumper is only available on NA models, excluding the "S-Limited").

The rear combination lamps have the same U-shaped motif as the newly designed headlamps, and the red lenses are concentrated at the top. The 17-inch aluminum wheels have been redesigned for better aerodynamic performance in consideration of fuel efficiency, and the 18-inch aluminum wheels on the turbo model have also been redesigned. The body color has been replaced with "Deep Sea Blue Pearl" and "Burnished Bronze Metallic" to set "Dark Blue Pearl" and "Sepia Bronze Metallic".
