Dos Rios tropical theme original map by RealRevChris

Dos Rios is my 1st map. It is a tropical theme with all outside connections, all resources, plenty of flat buildable land & train lines.

I tried to make the roads & train lines as realistic as I could. I didn't put a lot of trees, except in a couple of places for a forestry industry. Trees are something the player can add themselves if they need to.

I also put plenty of ore, oil & fertile land around the dormant volcano.

There are two ancient volcanos on this map; one has formed a giant crater to the west & the other is an old lava flow to the north-east. The old lava flows have created ore deposits as well as a lot of fertile land to farm.

The main sections of the map are populated with Palm trees, bamboo & other flora & fauna. There are two main streams that have several small waterfalls. There is also plenty of shoreline to build a thriving tourism/recreation industry.

Keep in mind that this is my first map, so I am still learning. If you have any suggestions or comments, please leave them below. I would live to hear anything you have to offer on mapmaking or the game in general.

Notes:
I didn't build the intersections, I got them from the workshop. I am still working on my roadbuilding skills & mine are not up to snuff yet.

I created a heightmap from the actual planet Earth, although I can't remember where I built it from. If you know where this is please let me know.
