Description:

CRN F/A-158B Corsair Strike Fighter

Fast and agile the F/A-158B is the dogfighter variant of the Corsair Strike fighter family, equipped with four autocannons, the corsair is suited for low intensity close quarters engagements, and equipped with 6 AEIM-1A Multipurpose missiles the Corsair is capable of intercepting and engaging targets at range. Coupled with its size, the Corsair is perfectly suited for CRN carrier operations, able to react and respond to any threat that might present itself. Whether that be head on fighter engagements, anti ship sorties, or ground attack missions.

Lore:

Born out of the CRN's need for a new strike craft, the Corsair is light and agile. And able to put ordnance on targets quickly and precisely. The Corsair by design was purpose built to engage a wide array of targets, from small strike craft, to larger corvettes, frigates, and destroyers. Purpose built for area denial, and space supremacy operations. Power projection is the name of the game and the Corsair further enables CRN strike groups to project their power well beyond the CRN's own territory. The design process for the Corsair was a long and arduous one, with the first design proposals being made by four firms in 2970, it would take a full 15 years for the chosen design to make its full evolution to the final product. And another ten years for the fighter to enter full production. Cheap and reliable, the Corsair has few moving parts. Making it the perfect platform for mass production. The Corsair wouldn't see active combat service until operation "Lance" where Corsair squadrons enabled the Republic's new "shock and awe" operations, establishing space, and air dominance over the enemy, in a lightning quick offensive, the Corsairs were some of the centermost pieces on the galactic chess board, engaging enemy fighters, combatants, and ground vehicles. In just three weeks the CRN had overwhelmed the bug defenses and captured two out of the 10 besieged planets. Nicknamed the Angels of death, Corsairs brought the fire and the heat.

Authors Notes:

This fighter works pretty well, I've had it in my blueprints list for a few months now, and just recently redesigned it, to make it not only look better, but to get rid of the subgrids that I had on it prior to this latest version. I also fixed some of its fuel issues, so now it should only need ice to function. Its sort of combat effective, but its more suited to long range engagements. So if you do decide to use this on servers, you probably wont want to engage any closer than a kilometer. Additionally the missiles themselves are not refilling, but I should be making a version that can be re-fueled sometime in the near future. The design is pretty modular itself so you can basically mount anything you want onto the ordnance racks. Lastly, stay happy and healthy!!

Ill have an update to the missiles, but right now they are creative missiles, also for targeting, there are programmable blocks in the toolbar, you use that to target, and cycle different firing modes.

1. Any ideas on how to refuel the missiles in survival?

2. Hows the targeting work? Is it as simple as lock-on with MMB and then trigger the progamme block to fire?

Great ship btw.

new to the game and downloaded this blueprint, the style just fits my taste perfectly....since i am just a rookie in this game, it is kinda hard for me to find a way to get in the ship other than punch a hole in the hanger....
