Description
Play as the barbaric Gallic warlord of the Balkans, Brennus; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

The term 'Galatia' is Greek for Gaul, which would denote the Gauls that migrated from the Balkans into Anatolia. It is believed that overpopulation drove the Gauls from their homeland in the west to Pannonia. By the year 280 BC, the Gauls became emboldened to pillage Illyria and the Greek heartland. Brennus, a prominent warlord, commanded a force of 85,000 to assail the Balkans. One Gallic party was powerful enough to exterminate the Basileus of Macedonia. Eventually the Gauls were halted by a Greek coalition at Thessaly before the they could destroy the riches of Delphi. Brennus would commit suicide in shame of defeat. Despite the Gauls being shattered in Greece, other contingents would settle Tylis near Byzantion and later Gallic mercenaries would settle in Anatolia at the behest of the Bithynian Greeks. The Gauls would inherit Galatia, and a sizable population of Cappadocians to tax from. Over time the proud Galatian mercenaries would serve various Greek princes until finally submitting to the Romans. Eventually the Gallic population of Anatolia would be subsumed due to Eastern Rome's struggle to hold the new region of Anatolikon against the Arabs.

    Dear @Shuhrat,

I teased Galatia on a Reddit poll before the new year. The vote was for the new year civ and as advertised the Slavs (Muscovy) won. The other two options, a Celtic or Baltic civ, would come out later, or, I should say the Celts came out yesterday. I'm sure you can guess what popular Baltic civ is next.

    Best Regards,

Dear friend, what next civilizations are you planning?
    Lithuania-Gedeminas
    Yugoslavia - Tito
    Emp.Ghana - Tunka Manin

Wonderful civilizations and leaders, but, unfortunately, no one makes them. These are just some of the few civilizations that can be added...
