Description
A massive industrial beast designed not to just fight sea monsters but to swallow their shredded carcasses for meat processing. An impressive assortment of high tech weapons including a quad coilgun array, flak cannon and triple blood fueled lasers is backed up by a dedicated melee gunnery seat that gnashes and crushes European horrors into bite sized chunks and swallows them into a killing floor for processing. It also includes several novel features such as a sunken grow room for light water flooding to prevent pomgrenade fires and a extend sprint back up motor. Several discharge coil stingers allow it some protection to its weaker points and a robust flood protection system due to its heavy combat role and ponderous speed. It features a short range threat detection system and reactor salvaged from a derelict Krokodile class for a hefty output to its numerous sub systems.

Submarine is designed to be used with mods such as Barotraumatic and Let Them In to provide a large selection of mobile treats for the massive shark maw. Including disposal of hazardous corpses such as waste infected creatures.

Pros

• Heavily armed and able to chew up and swallow enemies with its melee attack and drop the corpses into a processing deck without having to stop to loot bodies. Jaw is safe for divers when not in operation to perform maintenance or degunk biofouling from the Chewzor™ class mastication device. Gunnery bay has a full sensor suite to quickly detect hostiles with an option to provide an audible alarm when live monsters are detected.

• Discharge coils only go off above 45% preventing premature discharge when at low power. This can be manually adjusted at the super capacitor to account for upgrades made to the coil and/or super capacitor for more rapid shocking.

• Large captains quarters has instant feedback to numerous ship systems, a switchable top/bottom periscope system and nav terminal trigger to engage bottom docking hatch. Includes a couch to rest on and several stowage options

• Generous processing ability to deconstruct massive amounts of salvage or dead creatures. With two deconstructors linked via pneumatic tube from both dive bays to engineering for quick dismantling of recovered materials.

• Large work spaces that are mod ready with an extra Junction box and Battery to add in additional fabrication or other items including a large cafeteria area suitable for mods such as Needs and expansion bay for EHA and/or Barocraftables, Engineers and Mechanics have their own secure lockers accessible by them or the captain

• Flood protection system prevents back flooding from a single leak into other compartments, hatches expunge water downwards if the compartment below isn't already flooded to quickly shunt water away from critical systems and maintain float. Distributed network of ballasts and multiple small compartments helps maintain buoyancy in combat.

• Dedicated wet grow room allows fire safe pomgrenade cultivation.

• Radical triple split medical bays allows dedicated treatment, triage and research in their own respective areas to prevent multiple people crowding in a single room.

• Power back up allows limited maneuvering in case of reactor maintenance or failure.

Cons

• Large submarine has an overtaxed electrical grid that requires an experienced crew to maintain system functions. Upgrades and reactor knowledge are required. Ballasts contain large amounts of wet storage and there are five of them. Secondary engine in rear ballast is required for max speed but it is still very ponderous to drive by an experienced captain.

• While heavily armed with reinforced areas in the jaw and gunnery areas it has several weak points including the engine and upper dive bay. Requiring a temperamental specialized drain below engine that can not handle severe breaches and prioritizes reactor flooding. Sensor system has several blind spots to the front and rear.

• Monsters that survive being chewed can gain access to the ship and quickly cause large amounts of damage. Failure to repair damage to jaw can also allow another inroad for hostiles.

• Killing floor processing area mean the lower dock and airlock is rudimentary and also used to dispose of corpses. It is wired up as a moon pool but without the lack of gaps that most subs use. Improper maintenance can flood the submarine, wires can be moved to turn it into an And gate style airlock which is safer but more cumbersome.

• Lots of levers and buttons can lead to crew trepidation or mistakes due to complex systems. From turning the lights off accidentally or disabling one of the upper ballasts via its maintenance lever.

cleaned up the sub for the latest 1.9 patch. Fixed the new duct block in the expansion bay not being wired correctly, big whoops. Should drain better now! Still vunerable to attacks to the top and bottom of the tail.

Added cabinet tags, didn't remove wrench.

Remove wrench from supplies cabinet on the engine and add engcab tag to it?

Small update makes enemies attack more sectors of the sub by removing several of the more exposed weak points caused by inner wall clipping. Still considering cleaning up the multiple deconstructors to just have one in the top and bottom airlock areas.

I love him

Made big changes to make the ship more bot friendly, alternate ways to wire the jaw up to an OR component, moved pnumo-decon controller to engineering (4 deconstructors surely will not overtax the overtaxed electrical grid!) Tweaked drains and added a blast shield to the jawperation center. Huge update, have fun sharking it up!

Its properly way pointed but you might have some issues with damage around the jaw as they are not allowed inside the shuttle portion.

This is a great sub, I have one question though. Is it bot friendly?

Thank you BeyondTilted for finding a shifted hull and quickly reporting it, sub updated after checking all the hulls and gaps.

Isn't this fine for Neuro or do you mean all of the surgical tools and items? This is meant as an upgrade in campaign sub to Tier 3. Though if you add gear or make your own version you can start with more equipment.
