FOR VERSION 1.3!
My take on the iconic Soviet Ilyushin Il-2M3 Sturmovik ground attack plane.

It's an approximation, not a 1:1 replica.

From Wikipedia:
"During the war, 36,183 units of the Il-2 were produced, and in combination with its successor, the Ilyushin Il-10, a total of 42,330 were built, making it the single most produced military aircraft design in aviation history, as well as one of the most produced piloted aircraft in history along with the American postwar civilian Cessna 172 and the German then-contemporary Messerschmitt Bf 109."

It's often called "The Flying Tank" and has a reputation for busting German tanks left, right and center, and while both these statements are quite a bit overexaggerated it definitely was a capable plane with a big impact on enemy forces on the ground and in the air.

This version is armed with 2 fixed 23 mm VYa-23 cannons and two fixed 7.62 mm ShKAS machine guns in the wings (I had to put the cannons/big machine guns in the cowling since they're just so massive and added single machine guns at the fake cannon barrels to get some fire and smoke), and one rearward firing 12.7 mm Berezin UBT machine gun.
It also carries 88 PTAB anti-armour bombs and 4 RS-132 unguided rockets. In reality the PTAB bomblets were very small so the plane could carry 192 in total (48 per dispenser in each bomb bay) and when dropped would cover a 70 by 15 metre area with a very good hit probability, and punch through the thin roof armour of the German tanks. This proved to be a very successful method for destroying enemy armour.
Since the bombs are way too big I had to remove the bomb bay doors.

Alt controls to fly.
W/S: Variable throttle.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right arrow: Roll.
X/Disable steering: Landing gear.
L/Headlight: Landing light.
K/Hazard light : Sight illumination.
B/Beacon Fire in the engine!
Fire action 1/Num 1: Machine guns and cannons.
Fire action 2/Num 2-4: PTAB anti-armour bombs. *
Fire action 78/Num 5-8: Rockets in pairs.

* Drop from 50+ metres altitude to have the best chance of the bombs actually exploding on impact.

NOTE!!!
THis is one of the planes that just can't go straight on the ground, so when approaching 80 kph, give full pitch up and you will take off before the rear wheel leaves the ground and the plane freaks out.

NOTE! The bomblets won't explode in 1.4 unless dropped from 500+(!) metres. Sorry nothing I can do about it. :/

NOTE! The bombs just will not explode in 1.4! They're foam filled with nitro and worked well enough in 1.3 but not now.
Again one issue is fixed, another one is introduced.

Wow this one is clearly the version people wanted, about 3 times more subs than the other version. 😁

Really weird with your workshop, I have experienced many interesting "features" in the Workshop for sure but have fortunately been spared that particular gem.

Yeah I built the B-17 before the B-24 so I learned a bit in the process I guess. Will probably re-build the B-24 some day too but I think that one works ok-ish for now at least. :)

Might just be my problem, idk.
Your current B-17 looks pretty nice, though I see the reason for the update, nose is pretty squished and in general is a bit smaller than your B-24 which btw looks really well done.

Thanks, glad you like it. I'm pretty pleased with how the G4M came out, especially with the Ohka. :)
Not sure what you mean by the Workshop spawning in the corner, if I start a new build the first piece(s) spawn near the camera which is quite centered. Weird. I can definitely see how that's annoying if it's a persistent issue.

And I want to point out, the G4M with the Ohka Kamikaze fighter is really well done, now I have not built with the workshop before (mainly because I absolutely hate the way it works now spawning all the way in the corner), but I have worked with it before and I can double up the fact that it works about as well as Windows Vista. Really well done by the way, fun to stealth strike with it too! :D

I understand, don't worry about it, it seems you get specific requests all the time. :D (Also it was just a suggestion you don't have to do it, I just don't see many on the workshop that's all)
