A navmesh, or navigation mesh, is an abstract data structure used in artificial intelligence applications to aid agents in pathfinding through complicated environments. It typically consists of a network of connected polygons, representing the walkable areas of the game world, and is used for calculating the shortest path between two points. Navmeshes can be generated automatically from existing game environments, or manually created by designers.
