The Scenario starts on 1 July 1867, the date of the Confederation of the Dominion of Canada. The Construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway was the condition of the Colony of British Columbia joining as a province. This incidentally, will give you plenty of time to build up your cash reserves to tackle the mountain passes. The Canadian Government has *kindly* given you $15,000,000 to start.

How they got the money? Well don't ask too many questions: and ignore the piles of dead buffalo, starving Cree & Blackfoot, and what "cheap land" sign?

The Canadian Rockies were a formidable obstacle to overcome for the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Like the Union Pacific Railroad's completion 20 years before, the Canadian Pacific found itself racing to the finish in 1885 far to the west due to the slow going of mountain railroading.

If you want to recreate the original route through the Rockies: Calgary, Cochrane, Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, Field, Golden, Revelstoke, Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Kamloops. Then link the south with ships along the Columbia River and Arrow lakes (South from Golden & Revelstoke respectively)



Southwestern Alberta to Central British Columbia, Canada. Rocky Mountains, Selkirk Mountains, Southern Alberta, through the Kootenays and on to the Okanagan. Featuring Kicking Horse Pass, Roger's Pass, Shuswap Lakes, Okanagan Lake; as well as The Thompson, Columbia, Bow & Elbow Rivers, and many other little details to find.

The culmination of countless hours of work from September 2022 to March of 2033. This map is one that I am really proud of.
