M1 Garand from Payday 2

American classic WWII rifle that go ping. Attempts at making a short barreled versions for vehicle crews were made, and also folding stock variants for paratroopers.


This is something that has been on my mind forever. Eight rounds, two reload animations (empty and tactical), high power - this is the perfect slot for an M1 Garand. While it looks VERY silly in third person due to it replacing a pistol, it is extremely satisfying to use. In a reversal of the usual "full reload takes longer", this gun is reloaded slower when not empty. And you will be deprived of the ever satisfying ping happening on the last shot. I made a small animation showing a clip flying out with the bolt locked back, and 3ds Max crashed like seven times during the making. And then I almost broke two mice trying to draw a nice HUD icon (which is an en bloc clip, by the way, because there's no way I'm making a rifle silhouette into a tiny square without it being indiscernible), but hey. This mod works online! It's a bit disorienting due to reload timing, but otherwise works just fine. Perhaps with a script we could make it into an interesting primary weapon. Oh, almost forgot: Skin 2 and 3 are textures from Raid: WWII since the model is largely identical in the two games skins from the prop versions in the safehouse. They look more interesting and don't double the amount of polygons due to being technically a second model.
