Official sources state that Rinumau got its start as a manufacturer of compact fusion reactors in 2149, founded by Heidi Toledo, the daughter of a powerful business tycoon. As the company grew, they saw the rise of the AGL as a great opportunity to promote their products, so they constructed an AG-racer powered by one of their proprietary miniature fusion reactors.

Unofficial sources and conspiracy theorists claim that Rinumau is merely a front for a large privately owned counter-terrorist organization. While none of this speculation can be verified, many are puzzled by the fact that every notable member of the company is heavily augmented with seemingly combat-grade cybernetics. These cybernetics also supposedly match the ones carried by masked individuals who have been reported to detain augmented aggressors around the world.

During the press conference announcing their AGL team, these rumors were brought up again. The vice president of Rinumau denied them, stating:
”That's ridiculous. I don't see any augmented terrorists around.”
Miss Toledo only stated ”you're welcome” and excused herself from the event.
