Automated Cargo Pod

Description
Note

This blueprint makes uses of items from the Heavy Industry and the Warfare II DLCs. More on this below.

Description

The Automated Cargo Pod is a basic, spacefaring cargo transporter. Powered by Keks' PAM script* it can be set up for automated cargo ferrying between two stations. Manual operation is possible as well with the helm and standing pilot platform on the side of the vessel. Pod owners are highly recommended to read through the PAM guide to understand how it works. The PAM a workshop link is at the bottom of this text.

On the front of the pod a sensor is installed to detect connectors within docking range. This sensor controls two timers. By default, these timers are set up to turn off travel lights when docking and turn them back on upon departure. An additional spare programmable block and spare timer have been installed for pod owners to customize their pod according to individual needs.

Please keep in mind that the pod is rated for space use only, as the minimal amount of hydrogen thrusters will not be able to support loaded containers in planetary environments.

*) This is likely to change once the Automatons update fully releases, to include native shuttle support.

Block ownership

Ownership for all blocks is set to nobody. Make sure to reassign ownership of all blocks to yourself to prevent the connector of the pod from possibly not connecting to another connector. Sharing the same owner across all blocks will also prevent issues with scripts.

DLC notes

This blueprint is highly dependent on the Heavy Industry DLC and should be considered a must-have. It also incorporates two items from the Warfare II DLC, namely the helm and the battery. Both of these however are non-structural and could easily be replaced with vanilla options if you do not own the Warfare II DLC. I do firmly believe however that the helm is, by far, the best looking choice for pilot control in regards to this pod.

Should you wish to use a vanilla option, then you will need to set up the toolbars manually. The default blueprint setup can be found on LCD screens on the left of the piloting platform. Make sure to read through the PAM guide for instructions on how to set it up. Links to the guide can be found from the PAM workshop page below and within the script itself.
