Strategy
The Sassanid Empire is a peaceful alternative to the existing Persia already in-game. It is best suited for a cultural victory: complete the starting policy trees to get increased happiness. With this happiness you'll get more golden ages, but also more culture. During Golden Ages, you may want to buy cultural buildings, as they are twice as cheap then. This civ also has some support for a domination victory: more happiness and a unit good against cities. Having a big army also helps generate Golden Age Points with the Iwan Palace.

Troubleshooting

If you subscribed, but it doesn't show up:
1. Turn off the game.
2. Delete the Civ5ModsDatabase.db from Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache.
3. Launch the game and go to the mod section again.
After waiting for a brief period, all missing downloads should initiate and install!

If that didn't work, try this:
1. Go to Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS
2. If there is a .civ5mod file in that folder, open that with 7zip, Winrar or similar software
3. Unzip/unpack the contents in Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS
.

Worked fine two years ago, now there are textures missing.

“...Then Kisrā Anūšarwān (Sahan sah Xosrau I) split the kingdom into four quarters, and set over each quarter a trustworthy man. The first quarter was Khorosan and Sijistān and Kirman; the second was Spahan, Qumm, Jabal, Azerbaijan and Armenia; the third was Fars and Ahwaz down to Baḥrayn; the fourth was Iraq unto the border with the Kingdom of Rum. And among these four he extended to each man the utmost dignity and esteem.” (Dīnavarī)

Bit of a disaster, that, eh?

Thanks for all your work. o7

I'm not sure what the problem is, but it might be a mod conflict. I'll look into this when I update this civ, thanks!

I seem to be having a problem with the Iwan palace, is there a building or resource requirement? I can't seem to build it in some of my cities. Otherwise I really like the civ, thats all that is keeping it out of my usual rotation.

No problem, I'm glad you like it! Still needs some polishing in terms of art and compatibility, but I'll get to that, eventually :)

I'm thoroughly enjoying playing as the Sassanids. Thanks for making this mod!

Don't worry, there won't be any new ones anyway, aside from those on civfanatics (and not here yet).

@Rys I'm somehow 100% sure that it's not my mod, but instead a mod conflict. I can't really help you like this. This is because I never had this problem and everything worked fine. Bugs are really strange; I can't possibly know what the problem would be, sorry.
