Description
Post-battle choice event between a maimed hero and their rival, who just so happens to be the only one around to help tend to their wounds.

Get an opportunity to mend things with a rival, or simply air your grievances! Both characters will be affected by your choice depending on their personalities.

This took MONTHS. I thought my Poem at Dawn mod had a lot of variety, but THIS bad boy has splitting dialogue branches and panels for every combination of personalities, with thought put into each, like "why would this personality type be rivals with this other type?" "How would this character's hooks factor in to why they got hurt?" Some paths are shorter, some longer, but I'm pretty happy with all of them! Even the kinda cheesy ones — hey, sometimes a lil' cheese is fun! ^-^

There's a third option in the works, a rivals-to-lovers type of branch, but this mod already has SO much variety that no one will ever see every combination, so I may consider reworking that to be its own event. Hm... we shall see...

Anyway, hope you enjoy Patching Up! I put a LOT of thought, time, and effort into this mod, so next time a hero gets maimed in battle, do me a favor and don't reload the fight — at least until after the event ;D

Congratulations for building something of this complexity and thank you for sharing it. I'm slightly amused that someone brought up Ludonarrative dissonance already, but they're definitely right in that stuff like this builds flavour and connects sections of the game together. That, and Wildermyth's injury screens don't have a lot of nuance after a few snips of dialogue.

I'm impressed and mildly envious at the skill that's gone into this! Kinda makes me wish my own modding attempts hadn't petered out (mostly from over-ambition)! Anyhow, thanks for this mod and best of luck in your future exploits!

And thank you for unintentionally sending me down a rabbit hole of researching Ludonarrative Dissonance XD Surprised I hadn't heard of the term yet, but I love learning new things so thanks! I tend to enjoy this game most when the comics parts link to the battle/overarching story in some way, so I'm glad this accomplished that! I think it'd be neat to have more events directly tied to the gameplay, so I'll keep that in mind when working on more mods :D Hope you have a great day!

It's mods like this where the story and gameplay directly communicate that make games WAY more immersive! Because ludo narrative dissonance is a big problem with most games so mods like this are welcome.

@Robur hope ya like it! With so many combos, some are bound to be more satisfying or much quicker, but I think I did alright! I do have Sparrow's Darker Stories, but have been so focused on modding that I've yet to encounter one or really have a fighting chance to, so I couldn't tell you. You'd have better luck finding answers by commenting on Sparrow's mod or joining the discord and asking if anyone else is experiencing that, too.

As for this mod, let me know what you think when you get it if you have the chance! :D

Well then, let's put it to the test.
Can you also check Sparrow's Darker Stories to see if they all work? I only keep getting the one where a hero who lost a lover wallows in depression.

Oh my goodness, thank you CR4CK3D! That absolutely made my day!! :D I'm so glad you liked A Poem at Dawn, it was my first event mod and I was so nervous to post it, so your feedback is super validating!

Can't wait for you to come across this event! Some of these combos are more in-depth than others (otherwise it'd have taken way too long to finish lol) and many won't generate unless you have mods/events that allow more rival combos personality-wise (so I recommend those!) but overall I've enjoyed the event whenever it pops up, so here's hoping you will, too! Thanks again! ^-^

I haven't even had the chance to find this in game but i really appreciate the amount of effort from you for an entirely unique interaction for everyone who does get the event, I applauded for the first time i got a Poem at Dawn event because it was just so fitting and i cant wait to find one of the many variations this one has
