Description
Welcome back, commanders! If you used this mod in Total War: Warhammer 2, then you know what the deal is. For everyone else, read on:

Any Empire faction that controls Middenheim will have the option to operate Ulric's Thunder, an absurdly large cannon that fires shells so big they can only be loaded by a giant.

Once per turn, this cannon can hit targets on the campaign map! After constructing the building, select your settlement in Middenheim, click the button in the top left, then select either the enemy force or the enemy settlement that you want to shoot, and boom!

One last hurrah for Total War: Warhammer 2, this mod was a submission for the Modding Den's MODDER Mod Jam, damn that's a lot of mod, under the theme "I can't believe it's not Sigmar!"

What does "boom" mean?

I'm so glad you asked! When you target an enemy and hit "Fire!", one of the following happens:

  • Direct hit! Some units are deleted and/or some buildings are damaged. Everyone will nod their heads in agreement that the targetted commander is unlucky
  • Miss (whoops)
  • Misfire (Middenheim is destroyed when the cannon explodes)

Who can fire Ulric's Thunder?

Only Empire players who control Middenheim and have built the building appropriate building. (You'll find it in the Landmarks section at Tier 1.)

Unfortunately, the AI cannot build or fire the cannon. Maybe in the future?

Compatibility

This is a script mod, so it should be compatible with everything.

This mod works fine in multiplayer, although it would probably work better in co-op because none of your friends will risk allowing you to use this cannon on them.

This mod is fully compatible with ChaosRobie's The Old World Campaign.

Acknowledgements

The icon art is from an illustration of the absurdly large cannon[warhammerfantasy.fandom.com] which I believe was drawn by Adrian Smith.

The art for the Skaven Sabotage incident is by the incomparable Inkary.

@Solaire - works on my machine, and I play at least one Empire campaign a day.

Does this need to be updated for 6.0? or does it work fine.

I changed the dilemma to fire the cannon to include both the hit % and the misfire %. This should make it more transparent what's going on in the background.

Hi, it's not working, it may need to be updated. but at least as much as I tried, she didn't kill anyone, the mod itself seems to work, but somehow in vain.
